It basically means its no longer available to purchase starting December 15th. You can still play the game after it gets delisted, the online component will still function but there's a good chance it'll go away in the future. Even so, you can still play single player which is what I've been doing.

As for which version to get, I recommend Ultimate since it includes extra content but I would look at gameplay first to see if you think it's worth the extra $8.

This game is being delisted on December 15th. If you were ever thinking of grabbing it, now would be the time. Once delisted, you can continue playing though.

I just got myself a set of racing gear. Is this a good racing game? Will this game stay on Steam for a while? Which version is worth getting for beginners?
They literally just said it's getting delisted on December 15

I know what the word delisted means. I don't know what it means in gaming platform. Does it have a certain playable lifetime?

I just picked this up myself. I had played some 5 (when I subbed to GamePass) and loved it - heard this one was actually the superior version. I'm loving it. First evening I installed it I was playing till 2AM without realizing what time it was. Super fun. I only got the base game which I think is a steal at $12. If you just love the idea of driving not really ever stopping even in between races you'll love this. I think it hits a great sweet spot between arcady and with just enough "realistic" car physics to make it challenging to master.

I could have picked up the Ultimate, but I heard the Lego DLC section was disappointing to many and the other zone is just for drift racing IIRC? Not really concerned if I don't get every car in the game.

If you are enjoying FH4, the two DLC just add to the base game. I found both DLC to be enjoyable and completed them both 100%. Fortune Island does have a lot of drifting, but it's much more than that, with speed zones, traps, danger signs, etc. same with Lego.

Not to mention the treasure hunts on Fortune Island, which are not only fun but can add 10 million credits that early in the game will help a lot., but also that fortune island has some really fun terrain and the crazy storms with the Aurora backdrop are some of the most beautiful environments in the the series.

And once you accept the absurd premise of the Lego expansion (which shouldn't be that hard because the whole horizon festival premies is pretty absurd),it has a lot of fun extra content and the closest thing that you get to an oval track until FH5

Likewise, all the other extras in the Ultimate version really do enhance the experience. None of it is necessary, but is has some real and useful benefits.

Also, the Microsoft version works with multiple USB controllers (wheels, pedals, shifters, handbrakes, et cetera, where there's more than one USB connection), while the Steam version does not. The Steam version bug has been known for years, it's never going to be fixed.

My current pedals and shifter connect to the wheel, so there's only one USB connection. I'm sure my configuration will change in the future, though, so I bought the Microsoft version.

I've bought the Ultimate edition since I got into the series, and will always buy it for future releases. So worth it imo.
