I think it's kind of funny to complain about this on this thread in particular. With steam games, I've always wondered that. Steam may not go away for a long time, but if and when it does, a lot of people will lose access to a lot of games, at least for a time. Gog on the other hand is very intentional about letting you download standalone installers of the game that don't even require their GOG Galaxy app if you don't want to use it. Your ability to access your games indefinitely is reliant only on your ability to download and back them up -- and perhaps, far enough in the future, to find a system capable of still running them. The only requirement is downloading them before GOG goes under -- which we all hope isn't any time soon.

Mind you, some/many games on steam are playable offline if you have them downloaded, at least with some trickery. But GOG is significantly better in that regard by default.

Outer Worlds is one of those peculiar games that you like very much but never quite fall in love with - like that girl you dated in college who was cute and fun but it just never seemed to fully click between you, and you're still not sure why, but something was missing...

damn i got about halfway through the outer worlds on switch during quarantine but since have gotten rid of my console but damn windows only for the free version

If you're looking to get back in, Steam Deck has let me finish so many more games. And I collected tons of PC games that were given out for free and have found lots of gems. Plus it runs a good portion of those Windows only games. And desktop mode just adds value.

yeah i used to run proton on linux to run at least some games.... kinda thanks to steamdeck for well making proton work (unfortunately i switched to apple...). I may just have to build an actual PC again or buy a newer console
