This is pretty cool, didn't know it ever came out. I think this movie has been in production (at least alluded to) for some time.

Sadly many of the original actors aren't here due to their passing*. Impressive though the living cast seem pretty well represented.

*A seemingly disproportionate number of original cast members died in the 40's through early 60's.

So…it's not bad, but it's not great either.

The VA selection is fine, everyone pretty much sounds like who they're supposed to (save G'Kar, his actor is…he's trying anyway) for the cast that have passed away by now. Bruce brings its full force with Sheridan, like there wasn't a 20+ year hiatus or anything, which does a lot to keep a B5 fan going.

The story is odd, seemingly designed to establish a continuity for them to "plug" the reboot into, which is still very much up in the air as it has been for more than a decade now since JMS started publicly talking about it.

As a final-for-now-maybe send off with the characters, it's just fine. As a B5 piece of secondary media, it suffers from the same problem all of them have had - the show is just superior in every way, from writing, acting, pacing, etc.

I know it's not super fair to put that on a direct to video movie, but there's a lot that feels off when compared to the series. Even the visuals are a strange choice - the animation is fine, but the Shadows get a complete overhaul and look way less menacing than anything seen before, coming off as more of just a spindly alien ship than the creatures that haunt those that face them.

I give it a 6/10, and say that if you're a die hard B5 fan and haven't seen it, it's a perfectly fine Sunday afternoon flick to throw on. Otherwise, this shouldn't be your starting point for B5 and I don't know that I can recommend it to anyone but fans.
