For landscapes I think any of the full frame are fine, though of course more pixels is better. In fact the Z8 would be ideal for you, and it has a great crop mode with 19 MP. They did have refurb Z8s for $2400 a few months ago, dunno if that'll come back.
I'd go mirrorless if you want certain lenses. Like for wildlife there's awesome choices like the 100-400, 180-600, 400 f/4.5 etc. Nothing quite as good for Nikon DSLR.
The Nikon D500 was for many one of the best wildlife/sports lenses with regards to APS-C giving you even more reach with telephoto lenses (1.5x crop), but had a decently high frame rate at 10fps... To put in perspective, current gen, the Z50 (the entry level model before the Z30 came out) shoots 11fps.
It's not a direct comparison by any means and the 200 photo buffer in the D500 is still awesome, but there really is no reason to stick to DSLRs anymore if your goal is getting the best blanket performance.
Almost every Nikon mirror less is better than than their DSLRs at least in measurements of the pros vs cons.

Then there's the lenses. The 200-500 refurb was going for $600 recently, 1/3 the cost of a good Z lens like the 180-600. You can of course mount that on a Z body, but it'll be very unbalanced on the smaller bodies.

You missed the point entirely as a Z50 is what price compared to a D500?
My point stands. Yours is just noise.
Honestly you don't want to spend $2500-4000 on a Z6III or Z8 and pair it with a super zoom lens. The Z6II would be just as good.

ZF, Z6III or Z8 don't have this issue.

D500 users need an Exceed 7 camera just to match what they have.
