Maximum rate in focus mode MF or AF-S, or with [Single-point AF] selected for AF-area mode in focus mode AF-C. Maximum rate in all other cases is approximately 8 fps (Z 7II) or 9 fps (Z 6II).
The Z8 bundle deal (24-120 f4) is pretty good if you have $3500 lying around.

I BELIEVE Canon EOS R5 Mark II will do precapture in raw but only .5 seconds(that's still a lot of captures though)
ZF, Z6III or Z8 don't have this issue.
BUT I just decided to part with my Sony RX1 and I could live with f/4 so I could come out well ahead on the overall buy/sell cycle.
I feel like at a point it makes sense to update just because. I don't think I'd want one of the higher MP bodies.
But maybe I wait a couple years on the Z6III. Slickdeals is a daily crisis this time of year.
