  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.
  • Please see the original post for additional details & give the WIKI and additional forum comments a read for helpful discussion.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.
Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one
When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

That just killed this deal. These stupid taxes.
The taxes are minimal, the "recovery fee" is something Mint made up and is not a government imposed fee or tax. It's deceptive, but it's basically just more profit for them. Just add that fee to the $180 and divide by 12 to get the real monthly price.

Another Google voice user here, I carrier hop and never have to port my number. I went from Tmobile 3 lines for $100 a month to $624 for 3 lines for a year with Mint on the same towers.

I am little confused. There is another deal for existing customers where you can lock in rate for 15 for 2 years which is better if you do not want to pay up front for 12 months ? Can new customers sign up for 3 months and then take advantage of this promo?

https://slickdeals.net/f/17960163-mint-mobile-family-add-a-line-for-15-mo-for-2-years?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Edit : Pasting comment from this thread :

I've spent hours trying all the options possible and this deal is not mentioned anywhere on their website and never comes up. I did receive this email: "Right now, all new customers can get Unlimited for $15/mo, so it's the perfect time to grow your Mint Family. But as a Cyber Monday bonus, those new $15/mo Unlimited plans will renew at $15/mo for two more years (regularly $30/mo). This offer is only valid if you purchase and activate the plans before 1/2/25, so you better act fast. You can have up to 5 lines total in your Mint Family, so more family members can get in on the $15/mo Unlimited action.

How it works:
First 3 months: $15/mo ($45 total at checkout)
Next 2 years: $15/mo ($45 paid every 3 months)

Need a refresher on how to add a line to your Family? It's easy. Click this link
The family that saves together, stays together,"
It says "all new customers" but when you try as a new customer all you get is 3 months. I didn't believe the deal is sustainable for them, it makes all plans unlimited for 2 years for all new customers. It is some BS. And yes, I tried to add/invite new members into my Mint family.
I didn't want to spend frustrating time months later fighting for them to honor this badly written crap Mint is famous for
I am currently on mint, single phone number non family plan would I qualify for this? My current plan expires end of may.

Lots of confusion about who can get dhis deal. 1) if you currently have phone service on Mint Mobile, you can not get this deal. If you currently have phone service on ANY OTHER PHONE CARRIER (T mobile, Att, Verizon, Red Pocket, US mobile, you can get this deal.

My God! What can you do with a 5gb plan nowadays? I stream or watch video rarely using 5g data and my 15gb is barely enough.
duh, I wonder if watching video over a cellular connection uses a lot of data...

WHAT ABOUT TABLET DATA ONLY USAGE : Yes you can use Mint Mobile in your CELLULAR tablet. However the tablet must be UNLOCKED and capable of running on GSM (not verizon). TIP when you activate Sim Card just SKIP the ( what's your imei ) question . Once som card is activated, just pop into your tablet and you're all set with 40 GB high speed data. If you exceed 40GB high speed, Your speed will drop to 512 kbps (on the unlimited plan). Yes. 4 times faster than the 128 kbps on their other plans. I've used Mint on tablets for years. Hope this helps. Also if your UNLOCKED GSM tablet supports Texts or Phone Calls, then the Text and Phone call will work on your tablet too. Good Luck.

So what's the deal with the Pixel 8a not being eligible for eSIM (not in the list at the deal url)? Kind of hesitant to go for this because it's not listed, and when I first got my 8a the SIM card for Metro didn't work at all, and it was only with choosing an eSIM for Metro that the network and phone began working.. very reluctant to mess with things now.

My total with the recovery fee and tax came to $208.78. With the AMEX $45 statement credit it comes to $163.78 for 12 months. So its about $13.65 per month. I am currently paying $35 per month for Verizon prepaid (16GB data per month).

I havent used Mint before. So this will be more like a 1yr trial. Let's see how it goes.

As long as you buy a new sim card with plan and activate, you are a new customer, who cares who you are.
I would be porting a phone number that was on Mint just two weeks ago back into Mint, which is why I was afraid they may not allow me the new customer deal, and I didn't want to get a new number.

BUT, I tried it anyway and it worked! I had signed up for Visible+ for $35/mo w/ free watch service but they refused to honor the new $25/mo price. So instead of paying $35/mo for 12mos = $420 - $20 cb = $400, I instead switched to Mint for $202 - $47 cb = $155. That's a savings of $255 for less than an hour of total work, including reading/posting here on Slickdeals!

Only thing is I don't get free watch plan with Mint, but I didn't really need that. Also, the speeds with Mint may not be as good but I was fine with Mint all this time anyway.

That's clever, except would Amex reject the cashback since the charges were not "make a single purchase of a wireless plan"? Seems risky.
Actually, I did this a couple of years ago and I got all my cashback, across 4 or 5 Amex cards.
