  • This deal works out to $15 per month. A nice offer since Mint Mobile typically only offers this sort of promotional pricing on shorter duration plans.

I had Mint for one year until about 6 months ago. Two things made me switch to US Mobile: data prioritization and extra fees significantly increasing the price at renewal.

Data prioritization: I live in a semi-rural area, so the vast majority of the time this wasn't an issue. However, occasionally on weekends when people were home my phone data would slow to a crawl. Where it became untenable was during power outages (including lengthy ones during natural disasters). My phone data was literally useless. I couldn't even check the weather apps. This was my #1 reason for switching to an MVNO that included priority data.

Fees: US Mobile charges you the stated price, inclusive of taxes and fees. Mint's price was much higher than expected due to taxes and what seemed like extraneous fees.

So far I have much preferred US Mobile. Even though I have to use the Verizon network (slower data speeds) in order to get priority data, I haven't had any issues and it's still plenty fast. During the last major power outage I had zero issues with data. I plan to keep them when it comes time to renew.

Not really! There is a $25 "recovery fee" and other fees which might bring the mint deal within a few dollars of the visible one

When you go to this page, it states at the bottom T&C this is only for new customers. If you login to your account and try to find the discounted plan it is non-existent. If you know a workaround please let us know. Thanks.

You meant that your split the payments last week via Paypal and your got credit from Amex without issue, right? If so, when we do split payment, can I split the pay between my Paypal account and my spouse Paypal? thanks.
No. Amex has to be charged directly. Amex via PayPal will come through as PayPal and not Mint, so you won't get the Amex statement credit for Mint purchases.

Ok. Thanks. Looks like there is no way to use 2 Amex card to get $90 back.

Has anybody used Mint in a cellular iPad? How does it work? I'd only be using it for data.
Works without issue, did it yesterday

I discovered some differences between mint and t-mobile
Mint doesn't offer 5GUC, they only offer two bands of 5G a mid and a low band, they don't offer 4x carrier aggregation it still works but those are some rostrum big differences from full T-Mobile

I see it now, it doubles to $30/month. I'm paying $35 now with T Mobile. Not enough savings for me.

I also tried various ways, and so far, only one Amex offer can be used. Paypal might trigger Amex offer, as it worked for BestBuy, but Paypal doesn't offer the split paymen option for Mint, so it is no go.

Does anyone know how long it takes to port the number. My current carrier works until 25 but I will be traveling internationally next week so want to make sure I can port my number before that. I don't want to loose my number

I saw on Reddit where it is treated as tethering so is throttled after 10gb. Is that your experience as well?

Hmm, where did you read that? Maybe it was an iPhone user that didn't show the icon like it should. I found this reddit on the subject:

I currently have Mint and would like to purchase this, but I have an esim. Will I be able be able to use it with already having a current account? I can easily use another email address, but will they be able to track it with my esim number?
There is another promotion for add a new line to family plan. And you can get 2 years for unlimited at the price of $15 per month. And it also mentions you'll have to receive an email from mint in order to get this promotion. Search this in slick deal you'll find it. Good luck.

Less than 5 minutes to port in a number

With prepaid plans there are typically no refunds, period. Reading through the mint faq's, it sounds like you have 7 days to decide if you like the network or not
"All of our full phone plans and See for Yourself Kits feature a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee for all purchases made on mintmobile.com or using the app. You can cancel your wireless phone plan service for any reason within 7 days of activation and we will refund you 100% of the purchase price, including any fees and taxes. Shipping is not refunded."

Honestly, in my lowly opinion, I think this is pretty generous of mint. Mint might also still have the option to try their network via an app that installs a temporary esim, I did that earlier this year.
