Does this sub go on sale often? I want it but not ready to buy right now. but if this doesn't go on sale often might just get it, Also, how does this compare to the sis pb1000 pro?
SVS is one of the best at their price range. But to be 100% blunt, a "good sub" has more to do with room design, sub location, crossover settings, and room gain compensation. Most people won't be able to tell good from bad. Only too loud and too soft.

I can make a $10k sub sound like crap. But if you have the right tools, you can make nearly any sub for you (unless it just doesn't have the power for your room).

A positive about SVS' pro models is that they have a Bluetooth app that makes it easier to get the sound right. I personally prefer sealed to ported (and also accurate sound to power).

I pretty much agree and yes many people won't know what you're talking about especially in here.

Something that often gets overlooked, the quality of all the loudspeakers play a significant role with this also.

That's why all the premium RCs ideally ask for full range/reference loudspeakers at least with the core/base layer loudspeakers to get optimal performance!

I would add you also can't make a $500 sub sound like a $10k either.

Whats does everyone think about dual 12" subs vs a single 16"?
Don't know if you're a car person, but 2 4 cylinders together does not equal the rumble of one V8.

I am a car person, and that IS actually how it works some times, like with the Audi W12: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/...d.6069345/

Which is a perfect analogy because sometimes 2 subwoofers is a better solution than one, depends on the use cases, the room, the long term budget, etc., etc. If it is the SAME subwoofer in both cases, then 2 subwoofers is almost always better, and 2 12" may be better than 1 16", depending on use (if more music than theater use and/or in a small room to pressurize, then 2 x 12" may be just fine). Most would recommend 2 x 16" of course, why settle for a W12 if you can have a W24 Big Grin.

Thanks, got one with the 3% PayPal adorama Cashback. I had the rp1400sw before but it was a bit too strong for my house so I sold it. It made me worry about damaging the structure of my house. This one should be less catastrophic.

Why is there 2 different prices? Click this slickdeal link it's showing the $529 price. Search this same sub through Google and go to Adorama it's $899? What is going on, anyone else?!??
I think this is an Adorama affiliate link. It's not the same price you would see browsing adoramas website. Same with many Adorama deals on here from what I understand.

Klipsch marketing team deserves recognition.

Able to constantly have "sales" and move this crap product to uninformed buyers

Dude we get it, you have KDS (Klipsch Derangement Syndrome)… You troll almost every Klipsch deal and talk crap with no substance. What are you, 12 years old?

These new RP subwoofer lines are getting alot of love, and at these prices are really hard to beat. Don't listen to the trolls like this guy who's never heard or doesn't have much experience with Klipsch. I'm guessing his $100 Klipsch Promedia 2.1 computer speakers crapped out on him and now his life's goal is to troll every Klipsch thread.

Nope, lots of love from everyday consumers, not a reviewer in the community tho. Never seen a Klipsch speaker win a speaker shootout, or chart very well.

I have totem tribes in my main setup and ML motions in the family room.

anybody defending Klipsch has no actual insight or knowledge in home theater. you probably came from a Bose setup I bet
Then you haven't looked, Audioholics are some of the most respected/unbiased reviewers. the RP-1600SW did very well here against the big boys, and that is at its $1800 MSRP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5Gu06tQGzc

I have one of the 1200s arriving on Wednesday, I missed the $900 1600SW deal dang it, but depending on how this 1200 works out, I will be standing by for the next 1600 deal, which is sure to come again. For MSRP it is kind of a tough sell imho, but at their recent sale prices they are in their own class for price to performance.

I only have a few to compare the 1200 to, a REL 15/08 predator (from $999 Adorama slickdeal a while back), supercube I which I am working on repairing, and a couple of RW-12Ds, which are actually pretty nice. Since I don't have CEA numbers for either the 1508 of this 1200, I don't know what to expect, but from what I have read the 1200 will beat the 1508 in SPL and cleanliness... we'll see.

I've seen that video before. Only thing Klipsch wins on is the price. They don't win any other category.

Klipsch subs do perform better than there speaker counterparts but there is no way I'm taking a Klipsch over an hsu or other brands until Klipsch quality increases

Dude what are you talking about, they were chosen in a tie with monoprice THX for "best overall for reasonable price" and that was at 1800 MSRP, they measured well below average in THD and Group Delay, crazy flat/linear output, and above average SPL at almost all frequencies while maintaining all of those other qualities. (attached) They also would have easily won the "best value" category as well at their sale price vs. the HSU that the 1600 beat, while costing 350 less (on sale). And their quoted HSU price was before shipping.

Also, their quality HAS improved dramatically with the RP series, 5 yr warranty on everything, and for the older crap Klipsch amps that were failing, many posts from people who received warranty replacement amps years after their warranty had expired so decent support as well.

Why are you making me defend Klipsch, I don't even really like Klipsch, the only Klipsch speakers I have are the RW-12Ds I got like 8 years ago on a clearance slickdeal for like $270 or so each, at least until this 1200 arrives. Do you work for a competitor or something?

Can anyone comment how this sub would pair with klipsch fives for a computer set up? Would the 3 pieces provide adequate sound for music when grading papers and occasional gaming?

I'm actually thinking the same for my Fives at my computer. Currently have the 12" Klipsch wireless sub from Costco but I'm not satisfied. Thinking of replacing it with the RP-1200SW or maybe the RP-1000SW

Is it better to diy your own sub using parts express catalog? Honest question. I've never bought a pre-made sub and I've always wondered.
