I was comparing the shark and bissell a few weeks back and pretty much every YouTube review I saw says the shark is the superior machine for cleaning. I went with a shark from a qvc deal that came with the pet collector tool and was $60 or $70 total. I didn't look into this dirt devil model so I don't have any comment on this model, but I'm happy with the shark so far. I cleaned up my kids reclining/rocking chair and after just 1 pass it looks soooo much better, after 2 passes it's close to how I remember it new. I don't have a lot of experience with upholstery cleaners, but pretty happy with the shark. All the bad reviews on that above Costco link someone posted are because the listing was wrong and people were upset they weren't getting the advertised parts.
I suggest getting a spot cleaner from Costco. Someone mentioned this on an old deal when I first got ours. The hoses on these will eventually tear. We are about to get our third Bissell in 2 years.

All of these rubber hoses that meet hard plastic handles tear in less than a year. Warranty work is annoying as shipping and repair facilities aren't always local. My second bissell just tore at the hose and no replacement hoses are available.
