Tip: I would NOT recommend any of the fake trees with the "snow frost" look. That stuff sheds and sprinkles all over the place. It looks really nice, but is a pain for cleaning.

Before LEDs came on the scene small incandescent bulbs were around for decades. Most fires come from real trees that dry out. In my family, we still have an artificial tree that was bought from Macys back in the 80s, never had any issues from fires or melting. I will say ornaments have definitely change, we used to have glass ornaments that constantly broke and shattered to now current plastic ones that look just as good.

Incandescent bulbs? Between the power consumption and the fire risk, you couldn't pay me to take this tree.

Many other trees, including ones with LED lights, are also on sale.

I was able to apply a 30% off coupon for card holders in place of the REWARDS25 code.

For example:

National Tree Company 7.5-ft. LED Conconully Pine Artificial Christmas Tree
Subtotal: $347.99
Kohl's Cash & Promos:
KOHLSCARD30 - $104.40
Free Standard Shipping $49 - $8.95
Shipping: FREE
Taxes & Fees:
Sale Tax $20.10
Order Total: $263.69

Plus $18.27 Kohl's cash
and $40 bonus Kohl's cash to use Dec 12 - 19, 2024

I'm probably just old, but the power consumption isn't that bad and I've never heard of an artificial tree catching fire. Dried out live trees? Even then, rare.

The lights are on for literally one month a year, relax. I have incandescent sets of lights that are older than me lol. Fire risk on an artificial tree is pretty much non-existent. I won't even buy LED sets of lights for the outside of my home. They never last and cost 3x as much as an incandescent set.

It comes with the territory. If you can't be bothered to spend 5 minutes vacuuming the "frost," during setup, maybe Christmas isn't for you. It's a beautiful look and I recommend it.

If my lights were incandescent it'd cost me $150 extra that month for power. My LEDs cost me an extra $15.

And they aren't constantly burning out like incandescent bulbs.

Can you please explain where you got the $150 from?

I'm guessing you also swear by Monster audio cables?
I think some people are going a bit overboard in this thread, but please find me some truly durable LED minis that have truly soft light and no 60hz flicker for a reasonable price and I'll buy them. Seriously, I want them, but nothing looks as good as incandescent.
