I'm trying to figure out what this is. I've used quickbooks desktop for nearly 20 years and have never heard of a lifetime license.

I used to able to buy the desktop version at staples for anywhere from $150-$250, and use it for a couple years before I was forced to upgrade. Now it's one year activation and Intuit charges $650ish.

Not only that, but I've received a few messages from Intuit recently that they are no longer activating the desktop versions and forcing everyone to use the online version.

So this "lifetime" might be essentially a scam.

Very interested in this but something seems off also. I have older desktop version also and only way to upgrade for several years now it to pay a monthly subscription. Nothing on Quickbooks site about this product for sale anywhere

Scam listing on groupon
Per Intuit QBDT 2024 Pro Plus is subscription-based. There is no "lifetime" version

If you see a deal for QuickBooks on eBay or elsewhere for a "three-year license," be aware that all QuickBooks Desktop software is now subscription-based, and these marketing tactics are misleading

Ha! Remember those good old days? I need to use job costing, mine is about $1,000 yr plus $52 month for payroll. I have one employee, how much money does Intuit need to make?

I have no idea how much it takes to run a $180,000,000,000 company, but as much as they've raised their price, I haven't been able to find an alternative. They probably should have raised prices a long time ago.

Did anybody try this? I'm seeing there are still offers for this Lifetime Desktop Quickbooks on groupon at a similar price.

If it's anything like the similar Office I purchased from groupon, maybe the same seller not sure, I'm guessing the seller has access to some kind of enterprise volume license. Though I'm sure it's not intended for resale like this.

That said, it might still work fine. For the cheap Office I was able to download everything from Microsoft directly for the setup (though it was a lot more complicated to do it that way) and it still shows activated according to Microsoft and is working months later.

Just curious if anybody bought this Quickbooks desktop / lifetime and if it is still working for you?
