Are Nintendo Switches still dying with 3rd party docks? If I recall right, it was something about Nintendo using a non-standard charging profile that blew an internal chip. I don't know if manufacturers are accounting for this issue now.
The ASUS ROG Gaming dock that was $20 recently on Best Buy has upgradable firmware. Don't see this one having it. I see that as kind of important since ASUS added support for other devices but hey if it works it works
Any reason to replace the normal dock other than its smaller form factor? With that said I have been having issues with my regular dock that cuts the signal periodically on my OLED display for some weird reason. Doesn't happen on my other television sets. I've tested different cables too.
No, this isn't an "enhanced" switch dock, it's just a travel/minimalist dock. That being said, it does work with other devices, so if you have a steam deck, ally, or other handheld device you want to connect to your tv, you could buy the higher powered versions and only have one dock that works with all of them.
I started with the 35w version and liked it enough to buy the 65w one to power my rog ally too. I also have the ROG mobile dock, and while it's more premium, it seems to function the same as the 65w mirabox.

The only problem was with 3rd party docks that didn't follow the USB-C spec and improperly spaced the pins (Nyko). Bad USB-C connectors are a thing of the past at this point, though, so it's no longer an issue.
Steam deck uses 45w as the standard, any reason this one (35 or 65 w) would cause issues?
The 65w one works great with the steam deck, it will charge at the max speed the deck can handle. 35w one will work, it just might not charge if you're playing a more demanding game, might even slowly discharge. I think that happened while I was playing Elden ring.
Previous ROG dock from Best buy had better specs for the same price
You're implying that we should all wait for that deal to come back Tomorrow, next week, 2 weeks? 3 months? 9 months? Dumb to just waiting around for luck.
You don't have a crystal ball and neither do we all here. We all move on for something else.
I have an Anker version of this I think and it charges fine but my TV doesn't recognize the switch when connected with this. Is there a certain setting I need to go on for the Switch? I thought it would just be plug and play like the dock
Be sure you're using the USB-C cable that came with it, not all USB-C have the ability to transmit video signal. The cable that comes with it is like these...Cable Matters 20Gbps USB C to USB C Monitor Cable 6 ft / 1.8m with 4K 120Hz & 8K 30Hz, 240W Power Delivery, USB C Video Cable/USB C Display Cable with USB-C 3.2 20Gbps Data Transfer https://a.co/d/0JWKrCC
Wouldn't a regular usb c dock be a more flexible solution so you could use it with your computer too? Anyone have success/recommendation for one that works with switch?
