99% of my media consumption is streaming anime from my plex library on my DS920 NAS, mostly with .ASS subtitles and my LG c3 and samsung s90c cannot direct play .ASS subtitles, neither could my old roku nor 2nd gen firetv 4k. it would transcode and buffer and gets pretty annoying. This ONN box plays my HEVC anime with .ASS subtitles no problem. tested with AV1, OPUS, HDR and various encodes, all direct plays with no buffering. In the few days i had it, the UI did crash on me once and i had to unplug the power and plug it back in though, other than that its been great.

I guess $35 (Onn) vs $100 (GTV Streamer) tips the scale in favor of this one, but curious to know if you take price out of the equation is the GTV Stream really much better?
I don't want to buy an nVidia shield, but if the latter is much better I would rather wait for a deal on that and "chug along" with the old and laggy Chromecast Google TV dongle I have right now.
