Holy wow I'm pissed. I bought this computer last week because it was a good deal, and now it's on sale even more (maybe because of all the buyers complaining about the SSD BSOD issue)! Now this is a bonafide steal for a prebuilt. Of course, Walmart is refusing to partially refund me per their policy which sucks. Guess I'll have to reset/repackage/return/reorder.

Anyways, here's my post from the other thread that can help people that are worried about the SSD BSOD issue (check your SSD first to make sure you have the faulty Western Digital one - otherwise this guide is pointless for you):

"Here's the configuration I got:

Motherboard: MSI Pro B650 VC - Wifi
GPU: XFX 7900GRE
RAM: T-Force Vulcan 2x16GB DDR5
Cooling: Hybrid AIO CyberpowerPC branded cooling system. CPU is liquid cooled, but the case also has RGB fans around the exterior too. Fans are soft to moderately loud. When on full blast they sound like a softish white noise machine, which I actually kind of liked.
Hard Drive: Western Digital (WD) Blue SN580 2TB SSD
PSU: Didn't bother checking. It works. Maybe I'll bother unscrewing the cover and checking later.

Noted that the GPU was sagging in the slot so I had to order a $10 GPU support brace to prevent any excess warping (it's a big GPU).

Super easy to dodge the SSD crashing issue. I booted up the computer and set up Windows 11 without connecting to the internet. You can also gamble on setting up W11 with internet if you want. (sounds like some people have had success, others haven't) Here's a quick guide on how to do that:

1: When you reach the setup portion asking for internet, you can press SHIFT+F10 keys to open Command Prompt.
2: Execute OOBE\BYPASSNRO command in the Command Prompt.
3: After executing this command, Microsoft setup will reboot the computer. After the reboot, you'll get a new button option on the same part of the setup asking about connecting that says I don't have Internet or Continue with limited setup to skip the Internet requirement (it's in small text that's hard to see because Microsoft wants your sweet sweet data). This will allow you to set up the computer with a local ID and password without needing a Microsoft account, and complete the install without connecting to the internet.

That let me set up Windows 11 without internet, likely on the software version that CyberpowerPC set up the computer on that convinced them the computer was good to ship. I had no crashing.

At this point, you could connect to the internet and try to grab the WD SSD firmware update before your computer updates Windows and/or crashes. Of course WD have their own dumb launcher/hub just like every other tech company, so you'll need to grab that to update the hard drive. Here's the link to that (creds to cardcrush on an earlier post on this thread): https://support-en.wd.com/app/ans...l#subject3

You can get the online version if you're connected to the internet, otherwise use another computer to download the offline version to a USB. Copy it to your new computer, install it. Open it up, give it a bit of time to scan your computer (it might look like it freezes for a bit). Then once it recognizes your SSD, an option should pop up under one of the various tabs/menus in the WD hub notifying you that there's an update available. I can't remember if I had to be connected to the internet (I don't think I had to be, since I used the offline install hub). Took a few seconds to update to a newer firmware version, and that was that.

The whole process took me like 10 minutes to do. After that I updated Windows and got all the other various driver/security updates installed (only thing I didn't update to was the newest Windows 24H2 preview - but I think the problem with the SSD became an issue before that was released). Been using the computer intermittently the last two days. No issues with crashing. Only game I've tested atm is Marvel Rivals at 1440p (runs fine on high settings with no issues). Glad Walmart is accepting returns until January 31st at least!

Hope this helps! I'll update this post if things change."
I was one of the people having the BSOD problem. For what it's worth, I emailed Cyberpower about it and they very promptly confirmed it should be addressed with the firmware upgrade and provided instructions, which I did and have not had a problem with it since then. Honestly I went from super frustrated to pretty pleased with it. If I could do it all again at $200 less and knowing up front what the exact problem was going to be and how to fix it, it would be a no-brainer purchase.

I bought this one over a week ago for about $1300 and it's still boxed. https://www.costco.com/iBUYPOWER-...57562.html

Would this current deal be just as good? Thoughts on returning the Costco one for this deal?

Features:
14th Gen Intel Core i9-14900F Processor
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 4070 Super Graphics, 12GB
2TB NVMe Solid State Drive
Gaming USB Keyboard + Gaming USB Mouse Microsoft® Windows 11 Home

Thanks for the info. I ordered one. Could you please share the upgrade email/link that Cyberpower sent you?

I ordered and received this one https://www.walmart.com/ip/iBUYPO...5126097662 but going to return it because the specs on Cyberpower are better.

would love to know the same. bought the costco one as well and have been using it for a golf simulator and pretty happy, but this walmart GPU has 16gb of ram which seems like it could be better esp at 300 cheaper but no expert in comparing these gaming computers at all.

The motherboard in the system I received is a ASRock B650M-C AM5 Micro ATX. It supports 3.

Other thread mentions constant BSOD errors and other issues.
I was also a person having the BSOD problem, and the SSD firmware update permanently fixed the issue for me as well.

In my opinion, from a value perspective, this deal is a better value since the 4070 Super and 7900 GRE about the same performance, which means the only real difference is the , which is about ~$170 difference. $170 < $300
But if you need an NVIDIA GPU for a specific game/resolution, then that's a different story. So far I think it's rare to have a game that needs more than 12GBs at this point.

Below is what Cyberpower sent to me - note that re the windows reinstall, I did not do a cloud reinstall as I reset and reinstalled multiple times before getting these instructions and, at least at first, cloud reinstall was not working. Instead I did a reinstall from whatever local image was on the SSD. My guess is that if you do the firmware update BEFORE you allow Windows to update, you won't get the BSODs and won't need to reinstall Windows. Their link to the WD/Sandisk firmware support thread was valid and pretty helpful as I was able to install the Western Digital Dashboard from there that made the firmware update relatively automatic and quick.

I am sorry to hear that your PC is having issues. You are correct that the issue is with Western Digital and the most recent Windows update. I advise that you reinstall Windows and then update the SSD firmware by using the guides below. There is also some information in the SSD guide link that tells you about the issue.

Guide to reinstalling Windows (without a USB):

Step 1: At the log-in screen, click on the POWER button located at the bottom right corner
Step 2: Hold the SHIFT key and click on RESTART
Step 3: Let go of the SHIFT key when the PC restarts
Step 4: The PC will restart and enter the Recovery menu.
Step 5: Click on TROUBLESHOOT
Step 6: Click on RESET THIS PC
Step 7: Click on Remove everything
Step 8: Click on Cloud reinstall
Step 9: Click Next, Click Reset, and you are done.

I think people referring to the 10% cashback are talking about this:

How bad of an issue is this? Does it affect all AMD systems?
It's not too uncommon. Search for Reddit and YouTuber "retro gaming corp". It happens to enough people to be concerned.

What is the NVIDIA GeForce equivalent to the Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16GB? Thanks.
Not counting raytracing, It's faster than the 4070 super.

With overclocking, achieves +15%, it's 1-2 fps slower than 4070 ti super.

I would be all over this pc if not for this. You never cheap out on PSU and that is the No1 rule.

I bought this same machine last night before this deal was up. Canceled and reordered. I don't think you're going to find better specs for the price point. That recent ~$1,400 CyberpowerPC machine at Best Buy with the 7800X3D and 4070 Super is comparable, but I think this is better value.

I built a computer in mid October following the amazon prime day event. My build cost was 1550 with a 7600x, 7900 gre, 32gb ram, 1 tb ssd, 850w gold psu, and basic montech pc case. So for under 1000, it is better to buy this then build your own. I had to buy a new win 11 key and I learned my msi tomahawk b650 board had a bios firmware that didn't like the gpu plugged in. So I had to troubleshoot to death in order to find this out and then downgrade the bios for the gpu to work with it. 1000 out the door is a no brainer as it handles 1440p and 4k entry level well and doesn't require any troubleshooting. Make sure to pair this with a decent monitor to take advantage of the 1440p and 4k capabilites. The monitor is important indeed. For my setup I got the b and h video xv275u acer 27 inch with mini led. Very good picture that has hdr 1000. And average 600 nits so very bright. Rtings gave it a good score. Also it can do around 165hz.
