Sign up. You have to have a qualifying email which will include educator/student, 1st responder, military, and certain companies you may work for. Might even qualify through things like AAA.

I want to use this for gaming and work. Not with an oled. Terrible burnin
Dell, LG and others have a really nice 40" 5k2k wide screen IPS display. There was a deal posted a few months back on a Deco Gear monitor that uses LG panels for around $500.

I missed it but that would have been my perfect work monitor

I got this with the last deal for around the same price. It's a really nice monitor. My previous was a 34" ultra wide also 1440p but not OLED. For my purposes which is sim racing the additional peripheral was really nice especially for wheel to wheel online racing. The OLED didn't blow me away with the blacks like I thought it would but overall it was a great buy especially cause it came with additional storage for the desktop.

Sam's Club had the MSI version (491CQP) for $699 during BF and CB, with high cashback from a few famous sites too. I can't answer crystal ball questions, but I do think that sale could come back any time from now to Christmas.

The MSI version has Alt DP USB-C with 90W charging plus USB hub, could be huge if you run PC+ laptop setup.

And if that price comes back you don't have to deal with the extra SSD if you don't need it to start with.

Would this serve a purpose of gaming, watching movies, and some use of writing documents and working with spreadsheets? I keep seeing comments on burn-in? I guess what I'm asking is this just mainly for gaming?

From one of the Amazon reviews:

"A couple terms to search when making this decision for a TLDR:
- "samsung odyssey settings erased" - 3-4 years of monitors not storing settings, no fixes
- "samgsung odyssey yellowish" - This is not plug and play like it says, you have to sit and screw with not only the monitor settings but the GPU settings otherwise it looks terrible."

Has me second guessing this purchase in favor of waiting for an Alienware or LG OLED deal. Samsung return policy doesn't sound like you can return it without jumping through hoops or paying 5% restocking fee either.

The monitor supports 4:4:4 @60hz and at 120hz. I use the DP port, but the specs show HDMI 2.1 for both the HDMI and micro-HDMI ports.

Regarding burn-in, I've been using one of these for the past 1.5 years for 99% office work, 8+ hours a day of Word, Acrobat, etc. and haven't noticed any burn-in. I've been really happy with this monitor.

Thanks. How does the real estate compare to a 48-inch screen (thinking about the 48-inch LG OLED B4)
