Pretty nice price if you can find one. I tried one of these out in this fall's laptop hunt. Really wanted to like it more: great screen, really nice build quality, pretty light, good keyboard and touchpad (gotta love haptic), only gets a little warm in the middle and quiet once it was set up. Couple of things had me return it - the speakers do sound pretty good when you're on a desk/table, but when you're using it in your lap (as I often do) they just sound awful and muddy. Also, I kept running into this bug where the entire screen would freeze up for 10-15 seconds and then refresh everything I had open - maybe it was Intel drivers, maybe it was just Windows, maybe it was HP's software, idk.

Definitely worth a try, and if the speakers don't bother you and the software has been ironed out then this should be a great machine.
Tell me which windows laptop manufacturer that doesn't have hinge issue. It depends on which specific laptop. Are you saying this specific laptop or this line of laptop is plagued with hinge issues?
For example Lenovo ideapad and flex line has hinge issues but I wouldn't say their ThinkPad x1 has any issues.

Do you recall if the screen was 60Hz or 120Hz?

So I just received this laptop, and the hinge seems surprisingly solid for a 2-in-1 double-hinge. No idea how it'll hold up over time, but seems just fine for day 1. Hinge wobble drives me nuts, so this was the first thing I checked.
The whole laptop feels firm and well-built.
I will say that Bluetooth has been horrible, though. Basically any time the laptop sleeps or if I swap my keyboard to another comp for a second, I have to turn BT off/on again to reconnect. It's quite reliably unreliable. ☹️

Is this a lunar lake processor?

Weird that Best Buy doesn't say. It's got an adaptive refresh rate 48-120Hz [hp.com].

And to answer the above poster, yes, Intel Ultra 256V or 258V are Lunar Lake.

I bought a 14" HP Spectre open box last week, which is the predecessor to this laptop with the last gen intel chip. I got it for ~$650 after tax in excellent condition with 16GB/1TB.

It has a fantastic oled display, a great keyboard, and a haptic trackpad which is rare for windows laptops. The build quality overall is very premium, no issues with the hinges and it's light and portable. Runs pretty cool and the fans are quiet.

My complaints with it are the mediocre battery life, windows bloatware, and you can't open it easily with one hand. The display is also pretty reflective but I haven't tried it outside yet.

I haven't had any major issues, although I did have windows freeze up on me once (taskbar popup wouldn't go away) that I fixed via restart. The minor issues I've had are mainly Windows quirks or because I was running out of RAM. 16GB is fine for most people but a little more would be nice for me. I like to have a lot of tabs open and multitask.

I'm not sure how much I'll end up using the touch screen or 2-in-1 functionality but I really wanted to try it. I don't have a pen to test but I did use it folded up as a tablet. I found that good for watching videos, much bigger screen than my iPad.

So far after a week I really like the machine, but I was considering returning it to get a cheaper used MacBook. I want better battery life mainly and I like Mac OS a bit more than Windows right now. I have a new M4 Mac Mini and a Windows Gaming Desktop at home, so could go either way with the laptop.

For $100 I would considering returning the spectre and getting this instead, if the battery life is significantly better. The reviews I found though said it's better than the Spectre, but not as good as the other lunar lake or snapdragon laptops. If anyone has used this and can share their opinions on the battery I'd love to hear it.

The other differences seem minor, they did swap the USB-A port for a USB-C, moved some ports around, and made it smaller and lighter. I don't think they've made it so you can open it with one hand though, which is slightly annoying.

Lenovo Yoga has a beautiful 360 degrees hinge that doesn't fail for years.

Says you. I recall one Lenovo yoga deal where people said their hinge broke. I even made them clarify it's the yoga and not another line. Regardless, Lenovo was the original bad hinge manufacturer with the ideapad and the flex line. It doesn't make all Lenovo hinges bad.

OK thanks. Can laptop posters please let us know if it's a lunar lake processor? The number scheme is not obvious or logical and it's such an important deal

Why so cheap? I've been thinking of exact this same model for a while and this seems like a great deal.
