I also have this planer and love it. Have not seen it for sale cheaper than this in recent memory. If you're in the market, this is a deal.

For those who have used this planer, how critical is the table accessory?

I got the Delta 13" 15-Amp Benchtop Planer (22-590X) on sale for $249 from Lowe's. I did not open the box and can return it. Any thoughts between this one and delta. Extra blades costs 60. So for 200$ more in price should I go with this one? I am a hobby user occasional use and planning to keep it for a long time.

Must-have accessory, IMO. I think most would agree.

I have this planer along with the stand. I'm very pleased with the purchase. Even S4S boards from my local mill aren't perfectly flat and this planer does great work. The only issue I've noticed is that there is some snipe despite the tables but I know that's because the infeed/out feed tables aren't perfectly flat with the planer; I just need to fix. I've had this for a year as a hobbyist with occasional use and haven't replaced the blades yet.

They aren't absolutely necessary but they will help to prevent sniping and are highly recommended.

Supporting the work piece is essential to reduce/eliminate snipe, it makes a pretty big difference in the final product.

I had the ridgid version of that delta, and was not satisfied with it. The depth of cut measure was never accurate, the infeed and outfeed tables could only change angle, not move up/down (and mine was like a 32nd low, so I could never get rid of the snipe), the actual palner bed is short so snipe is difficult to avoid just in general, and the locking mechanism was annoying to engage/disengage. I got the dewalt and right out of the box it was perfect with no snipe, perfectly parallel, and glass smooth surface ready for finish. Personally, I wish I had just saved up the money and gotten this dewalt first, so I'd recommend everyone else do the same as well lol.

They'll lessen sniping. Some sniping is inevitable.

This is definitely as good of a deal as you'll find. I had been waiting for it to drop below $599 when my Ridgid planer died over the weekend. Luckily Home Depot was fine price matching this deal.

Pretty critical if you're taking it to jobsites. With long boards you'll still need a secondary support further out to prevent snipe, which will happen if the board is bouncing because you have 10+ feet of unsupported material... But they don't have to be fancy/perfectly height-adjusted supports. But without the tables you'd have to set up much more precise in/out feed support yourself. If you're mounting it semi permanently in a woodshop (full diy in/out feed table) then you could probably get away without them.

I've been eying this for a while. Amazon has been price matching for a few weeks at $599. There have been some ebay-like deals, but I'm not buying something this expensive from ebay just to save $25/$50.

I've read a bunch about these two. Some people are happy with the Delta, everybody is happy with the Dewalt. I thing to note, is they're not exactly apples-to-apples as the Dewalt has a system that sucks the chips out. Most of these (including the Delta) only let the chips fly out.
