300 nits, beware if you want one in a bright room.

This is starting to get out of hand. People who don't want 60hz have ZERO reason to go on every monitor thread and add that they don't care for it. Plenty of people are just fine getting it. On to the next.

Exactly. These monitors are great for home office etc. Not for heavy use gamers

Not seeing the deal price. Showing as $349 in cart.
The direct link to the monitor doesn't automatically log you in ( or even present the option ) to their EPP/EDU pricing page.

Log in to Samsung on a separate tab, and in to the EDU ( special pricing ) portal, then add this monitor ( You can search for it from therein 43" M70D )

Now, you should see the correct price ( $279.99 )

I tried this very same Xumo TV for use as a PC monitor… and it's complete scam. Scam because its not truly a 4K monitor. While it does pass 4:4:4 @60hz, the text look crappy and hard to read at 4K resolution. My 10 yr old 4K Samsung that cannot do 4:4:4 looks much more readable at same resolution. Tells me the xumo panel is a fake 4K
Nobody is using YCbCr when full RGB is available.

Just because you set it to the wrong color profile doesn't make it "fake 4K".

Web design, photo editing, etc. Just because you think there's no need for something like this doesn't mean others won't want it for their office.
People looking for a monitor for photo editing or office use aren't just getting any high-resolution monitor. It needs to have good ergonomics and good viewing angles, and specifically for photo editing, it needs text clarity and color accuracy. This monitor has none of that.

It even has a BGR subpixel layout and glossy finish, the last things you want for photo editing.

Can you recommend a good monitor for photo editing in this price range? Preferably something with great color accuracy and good ergonomics... thanks!

I have this monitor and it is good overall but Samsung customer service is the worst out there. If you have to return it or you have issues with the monitor, you are screwed with them.

Always a VA panel on sale. Where's the IPS? I think IPS is like OLED, it has higher premium.

Agreed! This is basically the same as the 'No HDMI' comments for every laptop posting a few years back 🤣

Not a gamer but I have to say I also fail to see the appeal of these "smart" monitor. I don't do graphics so I just need desktop real estate space for spreadsheets, portal via browser and video calls.
At home, I do work on 2 HP 27" QHD monitors from the start of pandemic ($150 each thanks to Newegg). A couple of years back I had to work remotely in FL for a month and didn't want to lug everything and couldn't possibly work off a 15" laptop. In a pinch I bought a 43" Amazon FireTV Omni for $200 during Prime Days and it served as TV and work monitor beautifully.
I am surprised that particular TV still goes for $300 today though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T6DZ81T I guess comparatively 280 for this Samsung could still make sense. However I am sure there are other decent small TV in 40" class can be had for less

No kidding, the only time i will start complaining or even looking at refresh rate is if sport scenes will start to act up or my latest block buster movie. Until then i don't care. The first person Call of Duty shooter on my PS4 will also not care because i cant move fast enough anyways for any of it to matter.
