Anyone with advice on a player in this price range. I got my daughter one of those crap victrola ones but want to upgrade to something "decent" to connect to a receiver. TIA, not sure if this is it?

Yes, this can be connected to a receiver. It's a good beginner's turntable with a full set of convenience features:
  • Fully automatic (so you don't have to worry about walking away / falling asleep while a record is playing)
  • Has a selectable built-in pre-amp (so it can used with any receiver via either PHONO or LINE / AUX inputs; or with a set of powered speakers directly)
  • Has Bluetooth (so it can be connected to Bluetooth-enabled speakers or headphones directly)
You can't find a turntable with its features for this price on a normal day.

I saw these turntables marked down to $127 on a "Rollback" price tag at my local B&M store as well. Now that Audio-Technica has introduced the AT-LP70XBT model [audio-technica.com], I have a suspicion the Walmart's version of AT-LP60XBT is being discontinued and possibly getting replaced by an AT-LP70XBT-like model.

I just picked one up at WalMart. I've had my eyes on these for a while to play some old records I found in storage at my father's house. Seems like a good price for a reputable brand with nice features like Bluetooth and replaceable cartridge.

Just reporting that there are a few WalMarts that still have these in inventory, on clearance, for the same $127 price as previously reported.

I decided to roll the dice and picked up the last one at the Martinsville, Indiana store. The packaging was severely beaten, so we opened the box there in the store and everything looked fine. There's a 30 day return policy so if it turns out to be borked it'll go back. Considering that it's seemingly functonally identical to the AT-LP60XBT ($219 new), and it's primary difference is the exterior color (gunmetal rather than black, red or white), I was okay getting it. Hopefully the internal components aren't cheapened out and the turntable is comparable when it comes to reliability and long-term audio quality.

If you want to check stores around you, here's the link I used:
