Steam refurbs are actual refurbished, meaning they are fully restored to the point of looking undistinguishable from brand new. They have an in depth restoration process, unlike other vendors or retailers who sell all returns as refurbished regardless of condition.

You don't really have to "hack" it to play roms. It's just like a computer, just install whatever emulators and games you want on it. There's a program called emudeck that installs all the emulators and helps you set it all up.

Not a bad price at all! With a Steam library of well over a thousand games, I have been super tempted to try one of these, but every time I watch reviews that show a comparison next to the Logitech G Cloud I am always shocked into not taking the plunge. I use the G Cloud around my house, streaming from my gaming PC via Steam Link. To me the G Cloud is already kinda pushing the size limit Im comfortable laying on the couch or in bed while gaming. That Steam Deck looks WAY too big to me! And heavy/bulky! Anyone have both the Steam Deck and G Cloud and care to comment on how the transition between the two was?
As a side note, I just ordered a Retroid Pocket 5 to use as an out of the house / portable gaming device since it's about the size of my beloved Switch Lite and I feel like Ill enjoy/use that size a lot more while on the go.

Kind of strange it doesn't mention but when you buy a brand new Steam Deck OLED the 1TB comes with a premium anti-glare etched glass display.

You can buy a tempered glass anti-glare screen protector to get the same result though but it doesn't seem to say whether the Refurb 1TB comes with the anti-glare screen.
