Any know the difference the 10-In. Fry Pan W/Lid / Stainless and D3 Stainless 3-ply Bonded Cookware 10 inch Skillet with Lid? One is fry pan and one is skillet? Their picture looks similar to each other. Both of them are under D3 line, but the skillet is saying 3-ply bonded. I'm looking for something to sear chicken or salmon.

Compare this with the Cuisinart deal at Costco. In the warehouse it's $45 for a 5 piece. 3 pans and 2 glass lids. Pans are solid.
Is this the set you're referring to?

I saw the cuisinart set at costco last weekend and was not impressed, they are much lighter and cheaper feeling then the allclad i have.

After the whole dishwasher debacle I just can't with All Clad anymore. The dishwasher aluminum deterioration is a real thing, and it leaves a very sharp edge. If you cook a lot, you'll find yourself filing the edge down every couple years, which itself isn't a big deal. The issue for me is constantly checking if the edge needs to be filed.

And yeah, I could hand wash, but when I bought my D3 All Clad said it was dishwasher safe, and that turned out to be wrong. They'll replace the pans, if I pay to ship them, but they won't refund them, so all I get are more pans that don't meet the standard that was sold.

I'm slowly replacing my All Clad with Hestan

I have a number of All Clad stainless steel now (thanks to these recurring deals on SD) and just an FYI to some people that may be new to SS cookware… use a healthy dose of spray-on olive oil to coat pan when you're cooking something like eggs. And when you're cleaning up afterward, these little bristle brushes are game changers (not these particular ones, although this is a good price for 2 — just anything in this style):

Please don't use spray on oil, it will leave a residue behind that is very difficult to clean (unless it is not aerosol). Just pour in a small amount of standard oil of your choice.

10" or 10.5" is going to be your all purpose size. That said, the Copper Core @ $85 after coupon is a ridiculously good deal and I wouldn't wait long if you want one at that price.

Spray-on is generally just much more convenient and I've had no issues with residue.

I looked at the Cuisinart at Costco and appreciated the glass lid, so you can see how your eggs are doing without lifting the lid, for example. Didn't appreciate the slope of the slides, which significantly reduces the diameter of the flat cooking surface. If I'm buying a 12" pan, I don't want 3 of those inches to be sidewall. All Clad has steeper angled walls giving more surface area in the pan.

I don't see the point of expensive All Clad for stock pots, as you're going to be boiling or simmering something in there, and you can boil or simmer in anything. There's no precision cooking going on in a 2 gallon stock pot.

That leaves a saute pan and frying pan as useful to have in All Clad, which is the reason why picking individual pieces is better than getting a bazillion piece set of anything. You're not winning by paying less per piece, you're winning if you're using what you purchased and it's performing as good as it can for your purposes.

Been assembling my cookware in this manner. Got the 3 qt saute pan from this deal. Sauce pans - got a pair of Tramontina brand ones from Costco for $30. Then a carbon steel wok and a carbon steel frying pan. Only other thing I'm planning on is a Dutch oven.
