And yeah, I could hand wash, but when I bought my D3 All Clad said it was dishwasher safe, and that turned out to be wrong. They'll replace the pans, if I pay to ship them, but they won't refund them, so all I get are more pans that don't meet the standard that was sold.
I'm slowly replacing my All Clad with Hestan

I don't see the point of expensive All Clad for stock pots, as you're going to be boiling or simmering something in there, and you can boil or simmer in anything. There's no precision cooking going on in a 2 gallon stock pot.
That leaves a saute pan and frying pan as useful to have in All Clad, which is the reason why picking individual pieces is better than getting a bazillion piece set of anything. You're not winning by paying less per piece, you're winning if you're using what you purchased and it's performing as good as it can for your purposes.
