If you want a laptop with better battery life then don't get a gaming laptop or turn down all the power hungry devices. People have easily extended the battery life on gaming laptops to over 5 hours by doing so.
Complaining about battery life on a gaming laptop is like complaining about MPG on your 500HP sports car.
All said, when the 5090s come, I'll still buy another Legion, I like them and their builds better than any other laptop brand.
In a few months this laptop should be much cheaper.

I would say 4090 mobile is about between 10 to 20% faster than a 4080 mobile depending on the computer. I own the Titan GT77 HX with 4080 and is about 10% slower than this Legion with 4090. However, my laptop is big and heavy not as portable as this one. However, I still like mine due to its expanded internal, great cooling, mechanical keyboard and mini led 4K screen. This legion laptop is very good at cooling as well. I have played games on this AMD version with 4090, the keyboard is not even warm after long session.
This deal has been up since a week before Thanksgiving. I considered biting on it myself but decided I don't need a laptop right now. It was the best deal I saw at the time
Go back, I'd probably just buy a desktop, it's not very portable due to the battery and the brick.
When I bought it, I couldn't decide between a desktop or laptop and went with this. Unless you have to have portability, buy a desktop for a lot less for same performance.

I use this cooler with this laptop. It's been a phenomenal cooler, but on the higher fan speeds that make the most difference cooling, the fan is incredibly loud and will be a distraction if you don't game with headphones on.

"Raptor Lake CPUs have suffered issues with permanent damage from elevated voltage due to a vulnerable clock tree circuit, resulting in instability. Intel claims these issues have been since fixed in the latest microcode patches, which requires updating the motherboard's BIOS."
The mobile versions such as this HX are not affected. Only the desktop chips were, and furthermore like you pointed out are fixed with a bios update.
Of course, that means it's got an empty full-size, double-sided capable NVME slot left, so I threw in an 8Tb WD SN850x.
Open box has already been basically this price but from actual trusted sellers. Sell it on eBay. Hopefully no one dumb enough here to take you up on your offer.

You can pull up a list of affected CPUs from any trusted site, this won't be on it.
