i paid $200 back in August but i am not sure if that was a price mistake or not. $220 seems like a good deal.

Any advantage one can think of against wolfbox rear-view mirror dash cam ?

I bought a 2k version of wolfbox dashcam (840s) for my integra 2000. Works as expected and less clunky.

I'm now confused between Viofo 229 plus and wolfbox 900 series for my new car.

The 1440p version is $159 right now (quad HD 2k).
2k is better suited for dashcam use than 4k IMHO, not because of playback options ... it's just a better balance of space/results/operating temperature. 4k tends to have overheating issues, poorer low light performance, higher data storage requirements, etc..
