Legion's benefit is that it's a Lenovo Legion and the build quality is simply likely to be better and I would expect the cooling to be better too. Plus the Costco model has an additional 16GB of RAM (32GB total).
I'm a sucker for a good screen though and I have an Acer 4050 with a similar screen and it's great. Really nice.
Ultimately, I agree that the processor is not nearly as important as the GPU. For that reason alone I give the nod to the Acer, but the Legion 5i is a seriously nice device.
Re: build quality, I am buying this to replace another Acer Predator that developed a loose DC socket after 18 months of use. Fortunately I had bought that one from Acer on ebay too, with the 2 yr Allstate warranty, and they junked the whole thing over the loose socket and paid me the original purchase price.
