Honestly this is one IP that I don't mind buying multiples of. Bill Watterson gave up millions of dollars worth of merchandising because he believed in the integrity of his work. So rare in our consumerist society. This is one of the few ways to support him.

This is why I hate those pissing Calvin decals. Those must especially piss off Waterson.

So there will be 7 in this collection? For those planning on getting them all, The Complete Calvin and Hobbes (currently $96) is worth a look.

Correct. Seven sets to be released from 2023-2026.

I've been keeping my eye on these for a couple of months, and yes, I'd say you're correct.

Frankly, the hardcover version was floating around $120-$130 for awhile and has only recently jumped to $200...

I intend on grabbing the hardcover when it's back in a more reasonable price range, which I suspect will be soon.

Merry Christmas!

Anyone have this new collection and the complete paperback collection? I already have the hardback edition and love it but it's so unwieldy I've only read it once. I'd like a version that I won't care if it gets messed up and be able to read it more frequently.

Why does it say 2 of 4? Does that mean 3 have not yet been released?

I absolutely loved Calvin and Hobbes as a kid (and of course still do). I've been enjoying sharing my collection with the kids. However, I agree with the other person who mention that the Complete Collection looks great, but they're so big tit's kinda unwieldy and hard to read.

I'm a bit skeptical about this collection though. I see that the intent is to be "portable" but it looks quite small. Now that I'm in my 40s, I'm not sure my aging eyes would be very happy with the small font Big Grin

He has commented on them in the past:

"I figure that, long after the strip is forgotten, those decals are my ticket to immortality."
