I'm interested in knowing if these things are worth the money. We have 4 cats and 2 litter boxes....and we are scooping 2x per day. Thank you.

Its a worth every penny, My oldest litter robot is a 7 year old refurb and is still going strong. If you ever need to do a repair out of warranty they sell all the parts direct and usually take less than 45 mins.

Its in my top 10 home purchases of all time

Is this covered by the life time warranty from Costco or considered an electronic device?

Short answer: Yes, we have two of these now and with two cats we are emptying them about every ~4 days. The built in scale to detect & monitor health conditions is the biggest selling point in my opinion.

We bought our first one when we had two elderly and ill cats, and having the graph of their weights & frequency of using the litterbox made it much clearly when we needed to go to the vet.

When we adopted our current two cats we liked the litter robot so much we bought a second one for another floor.

It's been priced at $799 since they started carrying it a few months ago. Been waiting for a sale

Honestly, these are a game changer as long as they don't break. They reduce smells, they make it cleaner for the cat(s), they reduce litter splatter, safer to clean the box (I'm guessing), etc.

I *think* it would be fine. You may need to modify the step ups to be a ramp or something, depending how agile your bowling ball is. Size should not be a problem, my buddy has 3 Bengals that use his. Seems a bit cramped but they don't seem to care.

Is there a significant difference between LR3 vs LR4?

I had one of the original robots and they were such a pain to clean. I only did it a few times each year but it was gross. These any better?

+ the lack of frequent checks if the litter box needs cleaning.

If one is starting with this as their first ever litter box, they will still like it but may not appreciate how much they are worth every penny.

I'm with everyone else who says absolutely yes - these are worth it. We have 2 LR4's. The one upstairs barely gets used but the one downstairs is used constantly by our 2 cats. I only have to empty it once/week. It's in our den where everyone hangs out and we can't smell it at all except immediately after a cat poops. Once the LR rotates and dumps it, the smell is eliminated.

We didn't have a good place for the LR in the den so it was very obvious in the corner. Just last week I hallowed out the back of a dresser and now have the LR tucked under the back of the dresser (I removed the drawers as well and just glued the drawer fronts onto the front of the dresser). It looks great and cats are happy. It also prevents our puppy from going for snacks in the LR.
