Last time this monitor was at this price it hit 154 upvotes which is VERY good for a monitor.

For console gaming, RTINGS gave it a 7.1/10 for console gaming and wrote... [rtings.com]
The Dell G2724D is decent for console gaming. Although it lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and can't take full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it still supports most signals with both consoles, including VRR which reduces screen tearing. It has low input lag that makes gaming feel responsive, and motion looks sharp thanks to its fast response time, but there's still some motion blur. Unfortunately, games don't look life-like and realistic as the monitor has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray, and colors aren't vivid, especially in HDR.

They said about the and gave it a 7.4/10 for console gaming... [rtings.com]
The AOC Q27G3XMN is decent for console gaming. Although it can't take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S or the PS5 due to its 1440p resolution and lack of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, it still provides a great gaming experience. It has a fast response time and low input lag at 120Hz and 60Hz, providing a smooth feel. It also offers good picture quality whether you're gaming in HDR or SDR, thanks to its high contrast for deep blacks, and it gets bright enough to fight glare in well-lit rooms.

I'm in analysis paralysis over these monitors. Anyone have opinions between this Dell, the HP Omen 27 (https://a.co/d/f1Hq2Xg), and the LG UltraGear (https://www.ebay.com/itm/387714587633 )? For PC gaming.

The general consensus is that the G2725D has a worse panel. I'd go 2724 between the two.

This or the $150 MSI at Costco? Very comparable specs.

I recently bought a monitor from dell and never received it. Contacted support and 10 days went by without receiving a second one so I did a chargeback with AMEX. Be aware that their support is all Indian based and doesn't care about their customers.

I'm confused by this.. do you know if it means the HDMI 2.0 or whatever this monitor has doesn't support 165hz at the QHD resolution? Seems really dumb if they made it that way xD

That particular Omen is TN-type.. I didn't look for reviews myself, but people in the post on here or reddit about it said to avoid it for gaming. The 27q Omen is much better, although a little more expensive.. personally I ended up spending a little more and bought the 32q for $220 on amazon a couple days ago.

the one I received has TERRIBLE backlight bleed in bottom left and throughout the right side. pretty sure I got a return bc the box was pretty beat up and the inside accessories were all out of place. that said, the display is clean and looks new. this is a gift for an older person who doesn't rly care... so not gonna exchange... plus... dell would prob just send this out to another person as "new" --- f this monitor was for ME... 100% would not keep it. the stand is great tho.

my S2721DGF i bought years ago is WAY better..dare i say perfect (for an ips panel).. perfect backlight... been flawless for like 3 years. sad to see dell quality go down hill.

Interesting take. We had nothing but dead pixels issues and panels not even coming close to matching even with calibration with the s2721DGF models. We have had no issues with this model to date. Ips panel has backlight bleed I agree about that though. but... so did the 2721dgf.

it's not really a "take".. .it's what my reality is lmfao. unlucky ig. like i said, it looks like a returned item. Dell is known for cycling returns as "new" until someone just keeps it.

When I visited the Dell site, they had a popup/UI thing for a 10% off discount code if you sign up for their newsletter.

I can't get it to pop-up again (maybe because I already signed up?) so can't screenshot it or share the direct link. But I was able to stack it with the Clearance price, making the monitor $135 before taxes.

Not sure if this link will work: https://www.dell.com/preferences/signup/

But can't hurt to try. At that price, I think I can live with not having the latest and greatest next step up. 🙂

It's this screen. Try using a private browser, that may work. I haven't gotten a code yet, so the hour thing may just be true.
