I had no issue when I ordered $100 worth of cards a few weeks ago. Got the bonus codes as well.
FYI you cannot load them to your app. You must keep the emails so you never lose the numbers.
I always order via the app, and apply the card code at that time.
I'm probably going to order a few more - I eat there too much.
Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely not be purchasing this now. What a pain. I'm guessing JM is hoping folks use part of the $25 GC and don't keep track of what's left on it and never use the rest. Same goes for the bonus card. I'm sure there's a good percentage (5 to 10%) that are never fully redeemed.

Naturally, but you are far more likely to use a balance if it is all loaded automatically to your app balance. I always find it a nice surprise when I go to order something and I see that I still have a remaining balance which can easily be applied.

Your GC balance can get hacked either way. FWIW, I've never had an issue with that in the last 5 years. Apps have gotten much better at protecting balances. Also, regardless if it's saved in your password manager it's still a bit of a pain to have to apply the gift card code each time.

Many individuals have there GCs wiped as well it's just that many don't report it and it is harder to track how prevalent it is. Also, the difficulty of using a gift card in the app is a perfectly reasonable discussion in SDs. It can sway the decisions for many SDers (such as myself) from even taking advantage of the deal. In fact, I'd say it's EXACTLY what the posts are for.

I called customer service, and someone looked up my order and saw that I didn't receive my bonus card. I was then told that they would investigate and would definitely get back to me via email within two days. This was on December 12. I still haven't heard anything from them.
