I have always bought Dell and have been eyeing the alienware. This computer seems to have good spec but I had such trust in Dell computers. What is the consensus? There is an alienware R16 but with i7 for $1700. Which one do you guys go for? A few hundreds difference is not that big of a deal but reliability and performance is more important to me. Just want to know why the thumb down on the deal

R16 looks good, but depends on what you want for case size. Pretty sure this one is smaller. Also, ASUS using slightly less(ish) proprietary parts (except for mobo). I don't think AW vs ASUS reliability is a decision maker, neither is great.
