I bought the 3760 from Sam's, realized I valued chest cross strap for long walks to work in Japan, bought the 5358 directly from Swissgear.
At the price, I would choose either over these options.
Scansmart not needed since I'm precheck, but two features are musts for me in a backpack: key tether and strap for securing on luggage pull handle.

Many TSA locations have replaced screening scanners and will tell you to keep everything in your bag, not only precheck but general admission.

Not to mention another user who clearly flies more than you also echoed my exact same statement. But let's ignore him / her too.
BTW, lets ask the TSA:
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/travel...-checklist
"In Standard Screening Lane"
"Remove personal electronic devices larger than a cell phone from your carry-on bag and place them into a bin with nothing placed on or under them for X-ray screening. (E.g. laptops, tablets, e-readers and handheld game consoles"
And lets pretend your claim was true....then again, what would be the purpose of the "ScanSmart" bag if a laptop required no extra scrutiny??? LOL...logic people logic.

Clearly someone checks their laptop.

"In the future, the goal is to keep laptops and 3-1-1 liquids inside of the bag during checkpoint screening. Under current screening procedures for this technology, laptops are allowed to remain inside the bag for screening."

I even quoted TSA policy for the mic drop moment.

Hey, while you are hanging out in the future you mind getting me this Saturday's winning Powerball #?

I never said they don't exist (my stuff has likely been subjected through them a few dozen times), I just said my experience when not using Pre-check (sometimes the lines aren't open or last minute ticket changes remove your known traveler # from your ticket) is that 100%, 100%, yes 100% of the time a laptop has to be completely and totally removed from the bag and placed in a completely different tray. By documented TSA policy. Again, I'm not the only one in this thread stating this. You'd have to be a truly "insufferable" person to think we are all lying in concert just to upset your fragile world view.

So "in the future?"

The future is now [tsa.gov] old man:
"As an added passenger convenience, with the use of these new CT units, travelers may now leave their laptops and other electronic devices in their carry-on bags along with their small 3-1-1 liquids."
I also travel monthly with two laptops, two portable monitors, and an iPad. TSA never has an issue with it. I doubt it's your electronics that annoy them.
