So if you are married and have 1 kid you are a 3, and if you make under 77k you get 1700 voucher. If you make under 58k you get 2000 voucher. But if you live in CA and make that little with a kid IDK how you are even getting by at that point given the cost of everything...
IMO
idk who is this for? people with no jobs or part time jobs? even if you work at mcdonalds full time with 20/hr state min wage you'll be at 40k income level. If you are a student or a dependent you're being claimed by your spouse/parents. Is this to reduce greenhouse emissions? with theft levels in CA idk who in their right mind will/can qualify and want to ride their nice bikes.
#1. Washington: Boeing
- Subsidy value: $8.7 billion
- Year awarded: 2013
- Funding source: state
- Industry: aerospace & military contracting
Back in 2013, Washington state made history and headlines: Washington awarded Boeing a record-breaking $8.7 billion tax break package, the largest ever given by any state. The deal was intended to encourage Boeing's expansion within the state, which would naturally lead to job creation—but unfortunately, this desire for job creation was merely a general hope, rather than an actual clause in the Boeing contract, and by 2017, Boeing had in fact eliminated over 12,000 jobs (15% of its Washington employees). Though the Boeing corporation was technically within its rights to behave this way, Washington state officials have been understandably infuriated and fought back by attempting to reclaim some of the tax breaks Washington was originally offered.
If they give the money away, just give the money to directly.

"Participants would need to own the bikes for at least one year. If they get rid of the bike, they would have to pay back a portion of the funds unless the bike was stolen, had major mechanical issues or was damaged in a car accident."

and please lets stop making absurd comparisons among expensive gifts that are paid for by someone else (e.g giving ebikes). And just helping to reduce the costs for someone who actually is generating income, workplaces and prestige points for the country. because if you absolutely must choose one over another - I would much rather prefer working places further away that are unreachable for some vs tons of people on ebikes but no places to go.
Let's better compare something you can compare. E.g. spending a couple of mills supporting more bus routes so that transportation is available for everyone instead of some lucky few because that's where the actual problem is.
live with parents
get free 292$ food stamps which comes out to $9 per day allowance if you budget
Even better if your parents is own the property in bay area and pay no mortgage. You can claim as 1 person.
