As for the D17's, they have plenty of padded protection in the factory box. The speakers are also covered with both a plastic and a black cloth bag. Another nice touch is that the speaker is upside down in the box so when you open the box (with the arrow pointing up) you can install the base and feet on to the speaker then flip over the box to remove the speaker in the upright position.

The DM10 is similar to the D5C. Same size, same tweeter, (2) 5.25" mid drivers but the DM10 also has a 9" passive radiator and it's wrapped in black cloth.
