If you don't own them, buy these games. They're both phenomenal. Lost Odyssey is one of the best Final Fantasy games that isn't an actual Final Fantasy game, and Blue Dragon is a slightly more childish (especially in appearance) game, but it's still a ton of fun and shouldn't be missed.

Blue dragon has poop snakes and characters designed by Akira Toriyama

Lost Odyssey has great narrative with lots of difficulty spikes.

Pick up both if you're a fan of turn based JRPGs. The BGM is 🤌🏾

As far as I know, the only enhancement is Auto-HDR for Lost Odyssey.
That's not an enhancement. That washes out the color. Auto-HDR is fake HDR. It just increases the brightness.

Wow that's pretty confusing
not true as far as I know. If it's on your history list I don't see why it wouldn't work on a 360

Sounds crazy, but I sold both my Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and considering getting the series X/S just for these two games, because of the team behind them.

Two truly amazing JRPGs. The transition from cutscene to gameplay at the beginning of Lost Odyssey's still mindblowing. We don't even see that kind of seamless transition from systems with SSDs nowadays.

Lost Odyssey was absolutely incredible, some incredible writing and dreams.

By comparison, I really never got into Blue Dragon.

I don't suppose there is a way in this day and age to play these games on PC?
Only way to do that would be emulation

Haven't tried Lost Odyssey, but I did pick up Blue Dragon about 6 months ago when it was on sale. I played for about 6 hours and it just didn't grab me.

So, while I'm sure everyone who is offering glowing praise for the game enjoyed the game and is sincere about their praise, I just want to offer a different perspective. I did not really care for the characters, I found the battles and progression to be a little dull, and in general I found that it did not sustain my interest. For the sake of comparison, I do enjoy games like Pikmin, Grounded, Fire Emblem, etc.

Anyway, to each their own, and I guess for $5 you won't lose much if you try it and don't care for it.

Random encounters...yuck. I've been spoiled by monsters in the overworld so I can explore/battle at my own pace I guess.

I've played both. I quit Blue Dragon at about 6 hours too. That shouldn't be a reason not to try Lost Odyssey. It ended up being one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

OK. I'll give it a shot. I've sort of moved away from RPGS over the years, but I'll see if this one pulls me in!

Uematsu's music in Lost Odyssey is his absolute best outside of mainline FF. Classic classic classic music, especially the Prologue and Overworld themes
