YouTube Premium also comes with music streaming. After trying it out for a month, it was a no brainer at its price point and ended my Spotify subscription

You Tube has all new 'tools and methods and checks' to find out of if you really are 'new subscriber' or not.
Was hoping YouTube Premium would run a $99 a year annual special on BFriday or CyperM. Nope. Cant afford $140 a year.

No you haven't. Youtube Premium in the past could be had discounted from other countries but those days ended recently. What you have is a hacked app. What you also have is financial information on your phone, stored credit cards, stored passwords, family pics etc. Why do you people say what you did and think it's a flex? Anyone with Android most likely knows this can be done but values their security more than saving a little. If it works for you great, but don't be bragging like you just invented the wheel.

For the last couple of years I was subscribed through other countries, but they've cracked down on that recently and now you have to have a credit card issued in that country. I installed SmartTube on the tv and watch through Brave browser on my iPhone and it works great.

This doesn't apply to TV, only on smartphone and tablet: YouTube vanced is the reason I'm sticking with Android...

I tried using a vpn to get YouTube premium for $2/mo. but I think they closed those loopholes.

But fortunately I found SmartTube for the TV it removes ads and even skips sponsored segments automatically. Terrific!

And for on the phone, I use YouTube ReVanced.

I was doing well for the past 3 years until October when they sent an email alerting that they were closing up that shop. There's articles where they state they had goals to end the VPn trick by June 2025. We're all basically affected unless you have say a TRUE connect in the country you're getting gift cards from (gotta originate from that country)
