Do you think this chainsaw is built to withstand non ethanol gasoline as fuel?

I think paypal and/or chase freedom currently offer a walmart c.back perk of like 5%
The cheaper it is, the better it is to run True Fuel IMHO.

I bought a little ethanol free gasoline at wawa. i dont usually buy ethanol free and i think that model chainsaw is the only tool I have that 'needs it'. My backpack mosquito mister had its gas line rotted from ethanol gas I think.

You should be running non ethanol in small engines, helps you from having to clean or rebuild the carburetor.

You can not get parts for these saws, they are made by the same company that makes the new 55cc craftsman and the new mc culloch saws:greenchainsaw:
http://www.jennfeng.com/ is who really makes the saws.
This is completely correct. And don't expect your local dealers to even consider working on them. No one has been supplied with any look up material for the unavailable parts! We turned away a guy last fall who had one of these and he told us that we were the 8th dealer he tried. They are absolutely the worst things on the market today.

That being said, if it runs, and you have a little luck, you might get by with your limited use, but if it breaks, just toss it out.

This runs 40:1 gas:oil according to the manual. I would recommend investing in a helmet with built in front protector visor and ear muff. I did enough woodworking to understand how kickback happens. Get chaps to protect your legs. If this hits you, it will shread till the bones. Be safe 🙏

I add Sea Foam to my ethanol gas, no carb issues since.

Stabil makes a fast fix fuel additive that I'd use every season at first startup. Startron is also good.

Why would I throw it out? Why wouldn't I just by the compatible craftsman part and fix the simple two stroke engine myself?

Fortunately, this SD sidesteps that process and uses fuel directly to power the chainsaw versus requiring an intermediary device (generator). The point you're making doesn't sound very energy efficient.
The generator can and will power things other than a chainsaw battery while charging a chainsaw battery. Fridge? Freezer? AC or heating device? I guess if cutting trees is your main priority than yeah fueling a gasoline saw directly makes for sense for you.

Besides, I never said it was more efficient. I was replying to a post that stated battery saws are more convenient but are "bad" during power outages.

$104 ... Might as well. Never owned a chainsaw in my life. I feel like it's one of those things you don't use until you really need it.
These are MTD saws made in china and are copies of Japanese made Komatsu saws from the 80's and 90's. The design is great with several caveats. Please before you put in gas or oil check out the air cleaner. Many chinese air cleaners are in 2 parts that are not air tight. If you seal it with caulking and/or electrical tape that will fill this gap. Sometimes the o-ring (or v-ring in this case) at the air filter connection to the engine has a gap. So coat the inside bottom of the air filter with caulking to seal that imperfection. Some not very legitimate chainsaw shops have voided the warranty do to sawdust entering the carb. Do this and it will prevent it. Mine cut a bunch of wood and developed an air leak. I will be doing a Youtube video on how to fix it since it would cost you more than it is worth to take it to the shop. I first have to finish my orchard pruning and broken pipe due to a 200 lb. root. It is probably an untightened cheap gasket that caused the air leak. Mine is a Craftsman which is made by MTD. Good luck hope you saw lasts you 10 years or more. I am an echo Fanboy but these are capable saws.

I can't think of any better advice when working with any device with a moving chain.
