I did this to my A15 and it's much faster, YMMV.

kind of, multi step process, step 5 is what you want but you need to do steps 1 to 4 first or it does not work.

1) the device is preloaded with this plan and it can not be transferred (unless you do those future steps
2) even though the device is preloaded it is not activated, you have to activate it via the red card and calling a number or doing the online chat
3) during the activation if you are already a tracphone customer you can stack it with existing tracfone service
3b) or get a new phone number
3c) or transfer your existing phone number via a competitor like mint mobile, the big three (at&t, verizon, t-mobile), or another MVNO
4) once the device is activated your 1 year is counting down (or more than one year if you are a rollover customer with existing tracfone service like previous deals. For example my tracfone services goes until feb 2027 for I have bought previous deals, each new phone had 1 year of service plus data so somehow I got from 2025 to 2026 to 2027 via buying like 3 plus phones over the years for me and my family members, unlocking them and giving them to relatives post the 60 days unlock window)

5) if you want to use this tracfone service with a different phone, you need to buy a $1 to $5 sim at walmart, target, family dollar, dollar general etc other places. This type of sim is called "Tracfone Bring Your Own Phone SIM Kit, No Airtime - Prepaid". You put this sim card in your google pixel phone (or other phone) and then follow the red card which is going to do steps 1 to 4 with your new phone, this in turn transfers your service from the motorola phone to your pixel phone. In theory your motorola should be unlocked in 60 days since it was activated and it just needs to talk to the tracfone / motorola servers. Newer phones use unlock servers similar to iphones for several years now. Some 2023 and earlier android phones do not automatically unlock via wifi after activation with step 4, you had to have service still on the device and then use a tracfone email portal to request an unlock code you enter manually via the number pad.

Any questions ?
Samsung A15 5G has better screen (Super AMOLED FullHD vs LCD HD), faster charging speed (25W vs 18W), longer support (4 years of Android update and 5 years of security update vs only 1 Android update and 3 years of security update)

Moto G 5G 2024 has smoother screen (120Hz vs 90Hz), stereo speaker, Snapdragon 4 gen 1 is slightly better than Dimensity 6100+ and Moto My UX is basically stock Android

Aww. Kinda wish I'd waited for this.

Already got the Samsung A15. The A15 has better display but I'm finding out the hard way that MediaTek is not as well supported for emulation as Snapdragon.

Good price unless you use Google Pay. Just checked, Moto G 5G does not have NFC required by Google Pay.

All these low end phones have slow chipsets. If you find the A15 sluggish, the Moto G probably won't be much of an improvement for general use.

For my specific use-case, Snapdragon w/Adreno GPU is better than MediaTek w/Mali GPU (PS2 Dirge of Cerberus FF7 is 3-5 fps on D6100+ and 30+ fps on SD480). Hence, I wish I'd gotten this Moto G with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 instead of the A15.

Low end Motos with 5000 mAh capacity batteries have great battery life, too.

Honestly, the "Power" moniker in the Moto G Power is meaningless now since the Play, G and Stylus all have similar battery life.

Please advice:

I have activated the QVC yearly unlimited talk text 24GB Samsung A15 a few weeks back. Now I like to buy this one and combine both the plans for a total of 2 years.

I do intend to keep my original phone, its number and plan. What's the best way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance

You activate same way but with "Keep Number" and use A15 phone number it will deactivate the A15 then Moto IMEI will be activated and extend current phone number to 2 years and 48GB (make sure to screenshot everything before activating high data disappears sometimes)

A15 will show inactive under manage lines you click reactivate and keep number again to transfer phone number and plan back to A15 some say wait 24 hours before doing it.

I moved the A15 unlimited yearly plan to BYOD sim for iPhone. Does that change anything?

Unless their policy has recently changed, you can't. Doing the "keep number" method would add the 24GB of data to your allotment and extend your "service period" another year, but it would only reset the timer on your 1-year of unlimited talk and text. That cannot be stacked.

Not sure where you got that idea, many of us have been stacking plan/service time for years - some have extended their service time for years. Unlimited plan can be easily stacked with unlimited plan.
