I did this to my A15 and it's much faster, YMMV.

kind of, multi step process, step 5 is what you want but you need to do steps 1 to 4 first or it does not work.

1) the device is preloaded with this plan and it can not be transferred (unless you do those future steps
2) even though the device is preloaded it is not activated, you have to activate it via the red card and calling a number or doing the online chat
3) during the activation if you are already a tracphone customer you can stack it with existing tracfone service
3b) or get a new phone number
3c) or transfer your existing phone number via a competitor like mint mobile, the big three (at&t, verizon, t-mobile), or another MVNO
4) once the device is activated your 1 year is counting down (or more than one year if you are a rollover customer with existing tracfone service like previous deals. For example my tracfone services goes until feb 2027 for I have bought previous deals, each new phone had 1 year of service plus data so somehow I got from 2025 to 2026 to 2027 via buying like 3 plus phones over the years for me and my family members, unlocking them and giving them to relatives post the 60 days unlock window)

5) if you want to use this tracfone service with a different phone, you need to buy a $1 to $5 sim at walmart, target, family dollar, dollar general etc other places. This type of sim is called "Tracfone Bring Your Own Phone SIM Kit, No Airtime - Prepaid". You put this sim card in your google pixel phone (or other phone) and then follow the red card which is going to do steps 1 to 4 with your new phone, this in turn transfers your service from the motorola phone to your pixel phone. In theory your motorola should be unlocked in 60 days since it was activated and it just needs to talk to the tracfone / motorola servers. Newer phones use unlock servers similar to iphones for several years now. Some 2023 and earlier android phones do not automatically unlock via wifi after activation with step 4, you had to have service still on the device and then use a tracfone email portal to request an unlock code you enter manually via the number pad.

Any questions ?

Samsung A15 5G has better screen (Super AMOLED FullHD vs LCD HD), faster charging speed (25W vs 18W), longer support (4 years of Android update and 5 years of security update vs only 1 Android update and 3 years of security update)

Moto G 5G 2024 has smoother screen (120Hz vs 90Hz), stereo speaker, Snapdragon 4 gen 1 is slightly better than Dimensity 6100+ and Moto My UX is basically stock Android

Yeah, that's what I thought would happen but I went to my account page and it shows 1 GB of data.

I spoke to customer service and they say there is no 24 GB plan.
I understand TF CS are hard nuts to crack as I have seen my minutes disappear too in the process of combining plans. But in your case 24GB turning into 1GB, that's an extreme.

Trying getting a supervisor/team lead, they have a transcript of the whole conversation and full details and events of the account. 24 GB cant magically disappear.

Good Luck.

My "new-user" order just got cancelled. I am not sure how they track it. I used new computer, new IP address, new location, new card, new shipping address, new everything. I am pretty sure they would be rejecting many legitimate new users as well.
Anyway it is probably a good thing. I don't think I need a new phone, or service now.
im an old user but used the new user coupon and it worked and got the phone.
I think its because i last ordered something from them 10 years ago. thats as good as a new user.

They've always done that during the last week before the holidays, my order from a few days ago was UPS 2 day shipping instead of regular USPS which often takes over a week.

Aww. Kinda wish I'd waited for this.

Already got the Samsung A15. The A15 has better display but I'm finding out the hard way that MediaTek is not as well supported for emulation as Snapdragon.
Just return A15, the low end mediatek is terrible.
Snapdragon 4 and 7 series the ones to get , besides G1 at this price point.

Not uncommon at all. Shipping is free thru UPS I have always received within 2-3 working days.
Occasionally gets transferred USPS where it gets delayed.

Too much hassle. I might end up just grabbing the Moto G anyway to extend service to 2027.

FWIW to anyone thinking of using the eSIM on this phone after it is unlocked from Tracfone. I attempted trials of T-Mobile, Visible, AT&T and US Cellular. All failed. Verizon is the only one that worked.

Nah, you need to sign up for those services first before the free trial activates.

Just ignore the flyer that comes with your phone and you should be fine.
