If the failure is complete lack of power, the culprit is undoubtedly the thermal fuse, the weak point of all these Breville appliances. We've had our Breville BOV800XL for at least a dozen years, and I just wired in a new thermal fuse a few days ago for the fourth time. I've also had controls get wonky, which thankfully can be resolved by cleaning the PCB with alcohol, much like you might do with a remote control. These aren't trivial repairs, so you need to be handy, but there are plenty of good posts and videos online showing you what to do.

We've had one of these for 2 years. We rarely turn on our standard electrical oven. It takes up a lot of counter space but it's honestly worth it.

Most major retailers currently have the same sale price. Check cashback websites for additional cashback. Macy's has 15% cashback and the same sale price plus $10 in Macy's cash for every $50 spent up to a maximum of $40.

So you could buy it for $299.95 with free shipping and get 44.99 cashback and $40 in Macy's cash to spend later.

PayPal payment using Chase Freedom would offer another 5% cashback on the sale price.

Does Macy cash have expiration dates?

Those circular controls broke on my microwave recently. Very expensive to break like this …

Our similar model had issues pop up with the convection fan just outside of the warranty period. I tried opening it up to see if the fan had oil splatter gunking up the bearings, but disassembly to even get to the fan is a nightmare. Fan issues seem common on these models. I won't buy another one, even though it's been great otherwise.

Breville has nice colors. The stainless steel models are less popular. I got the 860 model, in Damson's Blue, with the kettle to match. Major difference in the kitchen. The colors were not discounted. Just the stainless. The 10% credit by using my Amazon Vis helped.

Price $ 360 less Amazon Visa 10% credit.

I wish the smaller version of this oven was on sale. The pro version is insanely huge. Only really needed if you're living with a family I would say. You'll lose way too much counterspace in an apartment.

Great oven. We're on number three. But the convection fan bearings start to fail after about three years with daily use. Fan gets much louder and doesn't spin properly. It's a shame, because it's an awesome product otherwise.
Mine as well

Good oven to buy if your main electric oven is broken and you want something on the cheap in the meanwhile. Otherwise it's just expensive redundant kitchen gadget.

I've had 2 or 3 of the older style non air-fryer versions fan fail after 2-3 years each. I keep using them without the fan which still works fine. I've heard that the air-fryer version has a bigger fan and is less prone to it failing. Those saying your fans failed, was it the air-fryer version or just the standard smart-oven with the little fans?

We just got the 800 and noticed the hinge is too strong. It slams the door shut and it gets caught on the rack sometimes. Does yours do the same?

Bought ours brand new and didn't power up. Wished it worked since reviews looked good.

These were so great that I bought one for my parents. My parents barely use theirs and the selection knob will not work half of the time or is very "jumpy". The one I have, I use almost everyday and never had an issue. I don't know if they got a faulty one or if it's a common issue.
