I think it does seem like a great budget amp, but why would a fan seem like a good thing over a passive heatsink?

For the price it is a no brainer for sure. Just be advised TC Electronic tends to fib a bit on watts. Even at 4ohms it will probably only sound about as loud as a 300 watt amp. Still totally worth it.

This is is my main amp with a 4x10 cab. Super clean even with gain pushed up quite a bit. Built in compressor. Fantastic amp for adding your own pre-amp tone. The big downside is the lack of an effects loop. It does have a pre-amp in as a 3.5mm input that I've run an HX Stomp into. It works but the pre-amp is so clean I don't bother with it.

Are there any inexpensive cabs to match that don't suck? I'd love to buy a bass amp but I don't know much about their cabs. There's always deals on heads but never on cabs, which seem to be 3-4x the price for a good one. I could buy used but they're all 4x10s or larger. I just want something small for home use and monitoring live. I can send to FoH for anything louder 🤷 ♂️

Or maybe just get a Boss Katana 110 combo if the cab is too much.

uhm the power usage out of the spec sheets says at the wall it consumes 80W sooooo unless this uses some voodoo Tesla type wireless power or maybe it consumes your soul to get that extra power to make 500W just sounds like another one of these chinnesium BS amps praying on the uninformed. just saying until I see some power output numbers I wouldn't trust it.

This drives my 2x10 and is great for travel because it so damn small. What I love about it is the headphone out so I can use it as my headphone amp to practice
