Very nice laptops with one of the best non-OLED screens I've seen! Found open box for $836 (Excellent) and $806 (Good) locally.

Great productivity laptop with excellent IPS screen (no OLED burn-in worries!) and good speakers, excellent for daily use and watching media, etc. Just over-priced by Lenovo. A relatively weak CPU + 16GB RAM should be $500-700 range.

The way to get the best deal on this specific model is when you can get it directly from Lenovo low $900s (was $930 before, + $20 off 500 new e-mail signup code) + 10-20% CB (from popular sites) + 15% Chase CB (up to $100 max). That's the way to build this deal into ~$700 range. Otherwise, you can get 75% of this laptop's qualities for 50% of the price via other options (i.e. Lenovo Yoga 7i 14" w/Intel 125U, after all CBs <$500).

This looks like an excellent premium laptop with a very nice screen and macBook level battery life of 16-20 hours. This laptop will work well for you for years to come with a mid range CPU, 16GB fast RAM (Soldered), an NPU (AI chip), significantly improved integrated graphics (Intel Arc 140v) and a bright, high resolution touchscreen. Oddly enough, at 15.3" there is no numpad.

The CPU is an upper mid-range Lunar Lake family processor with very good performance in single core workloads which is the majority of the software that you probably run (Unless you have a specific multi-core workload use case). Intel chose to focus on improving energy efficiency with this generation of CPUs rather than increasing the performance compared to the last two generations. This CPU should have plenty of processing power for most people.

While $1000 is a nice discount, the really slick deal here is if you can find an open box excellent ($836) or good ($810) for pickup.

EDIT: I'm seeing open box Excellent $736 and Good $708 near me in Los Angeles.
It's getting really hard to justify not buying this laptop right now.

just ended up purchasing the last excellent model in my area! Assuming these still hold the standard manufacturer's warranty though? Is it from purchase date or manufactured for used models?

It's from when the previous owner had it. You can, though, go on Lenovo's site and register it under your account and there is a place to change the purchase date by uploading your proof of purchase.

Got lucky with an "Open Box - Good" for $807 yesterday. The sticker says "residue" for the reason of the "Good" rating. Opened it up and it's pretty much pristine with barely visible "residue" that just wipes off. About 100GB written to the SSD (pretty normal for new) and battery is, of course, at 100% health.

Be sure to wipe the drive and reinstall windows with a used machine.

What are your impressions of the build quality and keyboard/trackpad?

Any insight into whether you get to assume the Lenovo warrantee as well?

The computer is already factory restored and goes through the Windows setup when first turned on. Impressions? I've pretty impressed by the build quality, slimness, weight, the display is almost OLED-like without the OLED baggage, keyboard is typical good Lenovo keyboard and trackpad is good.

Here's a great review from one of my most trusted laptop reviewers:

I'm MIND BLOWN that anyone has returned this thing. Best laptop I've ever owned by far. It does have some graphics drivers they're working out where text will get blurry and the screen will glitch occasionally when using external monitors, so must be something related to that

I am actually in love with this thing, trackpad on par w/ any mac I've ever used, ridiculously good keyboard, and the screen despite being gorgeous is 120Hz. On top of that you can easily get well beyond 10 hours of battery life, I think in some cases up to 18

Typing this from mine hooked up to a Samsung Ark 2 at 4k@165Hz and it drives it like butter

Hands down the best keyboard trackpad combo I've ever used on a laptop, includes macbook pros, really saying something. And it stays cool at all times, I actually even use this in bed sitting on my chest for late-night web browsing

I cannot believe Lunar Lake laptops are already being marked down 20%+. It will be a laptop pricing blood bath in 2025.
This is a pretty good deal. But I just can't buy a Chinese laptop.
Reviewers totally misunderstood this laptop. It has the best single-threaded performance in the game I believe, so it *feels* super fast a ton of the time. They engineered it to crush the things it's meant for and compromise on what it's not, heavy duty multi-core processing. Battery life is incredible, screen is incredible, build quality is incredible.... this laptop has fully replaced my desktop as a web developer and I just cannot express how nice it is to be mobile adn still be able to get real work done

I'm not surprised that this laptop stays cool.

I am amazed at how much processing power Intel managed to squeeze out of each watt of electricity with their Lunar Lake CPUs. AMD finally has a reason to innovate in their consumer CPU department.

All of the Core Ultra 7 2XX_ cpus should be good at single core speeds, ok at multi-core speeds and very power efficient resulting in cooler machines, lower fan noise and improved battery life. Intel's naming convention is subtle here with the 2 at the beginning of the number the only way I can differentiate the Lunar Lake CPUs (Core Ultra 7 256V) from the Meteor Lake CPUs that have a 1 instead (Core Ultra 7 155H).

These Lunar Lake CPUs are supposed to have reasonably good 3D graphics, approaching AMDs Radeon 780 for performance. Have you tried any low - mid range gaming with this machine?

I've actually used it for Dota and tried Diablo 4 last night just to test it, plays them both perfectly. I think I was doing 2560x1440 for Dota w/ the graphics settings dialed up to look really good, and it was still around 100 FPS, I'll check again tonight after work. I saw reviews saying it can play Cyberpunk on lower settings, but that would be insane
