I am sure there is a market and use for D size, but the pictures on Amazon advertise "takes up to 350 photos". Who has a digital camera that takes 2 D cell batteries?!

Know the mag lights love these things, so do baby rockers, the C cells have demand from other devices in addition to flashlights.

This battery must be old. Or energizer just blew the dust off some old marketing material from 20 years ago and copy and pasted it on here

Looking at the pics, Energizer sure is more interested in the pink bunny than the batteries! I wish it's the other way around.

Just buy regular Ds and throw them away.

There are a few companies that make something that resembles a true rechargeable D battery but they are very expensive and the reviews are iffy.

As others stated these are AA's in an enclosure. As far as I have found this is unique to energizer, as other brands d and c rechargeable batteries are actually bigger batteries.

It makes sense if you have something that goes through a lot of D cell batteries and you can take the rechargeable batteries out every so often to charge.

While these won't last anywhere near as long as an alkaline D cell, the advantage is you can recharge them for practically no cost, instead of having to buy new D cells for about $2 each.

These rechargeable batteries pay for themselves after about two changes of D cells. After that, your not really paying for any more D cell batteries.

Another alternative is to buy AA to D cell adapters for about $1.25 each and use your AA rechargeable batteries. That will still come close to this deal that is close to the same price of a AA rechargeable plus a D cell adapter.

EDIT: if you just need two D cell batteries and don't have AA rechargeable batteries, get this deal. If you have AA rechargeable and/or need 4 or more D cells, you may want to consider using AA rechargeable and buying a set of AA to D cell adapters.

Just to be clear: these are NiMH AA cells inside a D size adapter. 2500 mAh. They'll last a small fraction of a normal D cell before recharge is necessary.

Little off topic, but has anyone seen what real D alkaline disposable batts cost in the store? It's insanity. Like $18 for a set of 8!
