Amazon has Stonemaier Games: Red Rising Strategy Board Game on sale for $8.99. Shipping is free w/ Prime or on $35+ orders.

Thanks to Deal Hunter phoinix for finding this deal.

Note, product must be sold/shipped by Amazon

Product Info:
  • Enter the futuristic universe of Red Rising, based on the exciting book series by Pierce Brown featuring a dystopian society divided into fourteen castes.
  • You represent a house attempting to rise to power as you piece together an assortment of followers (represented by your hand of cards). Will you break the chains of the Society or embrace the dominance of the Golds?
  • Start with a hand of 5 cards, and on your turn, deploy 1 of those cards to a location on the board, activating that card's deploy benefit. Gain the top card from another location or the deck, gaining that location's benefit and adding the card to your hand as you enhance your end-game point total.
  • Lots of easter eggs to explore and attention to detail. Knowledge of the books heightens your enjoyment, but it is not necessary to love the game.
  • Designed by Alexander Schmidt and Jamey Stegmaier (Scythe). Illustrated by Miles Bensky (Rolling Realms), Jacqui Davis (Viticulture), and Justin Wong.
  • Hand Management, Set Collection, and Variable Player Powers. Heavily inspired by the game Fantasy Realms. Easy to learn, hard to master!
  • Features an Automa to play against in a single player game for a fun solitaire experience. The Automa simulates an opponent for you to compete against, while your game as a player remains the same. On the Automa's turn, flip a card to see what action it takes.
  • Ages 14+
  • 1-6 Players

There's a reason this game keeps going on sale for so cheap. Even Stonemaier superfans have almost universally panned this game. Save your money.

The solo mode is perfectly playable at least.

I agree its fine as a solo game, especially for this price.

7.0 score with 8k votes on BGG certainly isn't awful either, thats a decent score.

Is there an app version or website version of this game? Solo play would be so much better this way.

This is one of my favorite books series of all time. Highly recommend. I'm also a board game nerd, but have heard too many poor reviews to check it out. The art looks awesome though!
