Comparing to the $199 Bose you linked on Amazon, the 550 is the better option; the one on Amazon is a lower end model (though based on similar speaker components). The 550 has 3.0.2 channels (vs 2.0), Dolby Atmos, and adds upward aiming speakers. Can't say anything about the Sony.

I just mounted my 300 under the TV, if I replaced it with this, my guess is the top speakers would be blocked by the bottom of the tv?

was looking for bose 600 refurbished on bose.com for 279... reading up its the same thing so go one for myself and one for my parents. Just temporary until i upgrade tv and then get a more premium soundbar. thanks OP.

My basement is 15' by 15'…wouldn't you guys consider something like the Q990 overkill for a room of that size? Debating going all out on something like that vs a much more practical one like this.

Looking to pair something with my 65" LG g3 that I grabbed on the other slickdeal for $999!

Not even close. That's what I have and likely won't replace for years. You're comparing a standalone bar to a 5.1.2 surround experience. But, for a standalone Atmos bar, it's pretty good, especially for the price.
