Comparing to the $199 Bose you linked on Amazon, the 550 is the better option; the one on Amazon is a lower end model (though based on similar speaker components). The 550 has 3.0.2 channels (vs 2.0), Dolby Atmos, and adds upward aiming speakers. Can't say anything about the Sony.
My basement is 15' by 15'…wouldn't you guys consider something like the Q990 overkill for a room of that size? Debating going all out on something like that vs a much more practical one like this.
Looking to pair something with my 65" LG g3 that I grabbed on the other slickdeal for $999!
That tv is way too nice to put this budget soundbar. I regret you must buy tje q990 andvtgank me later. Especially if you have a plex nvidia shield or emby seyup that can pass uncompressed audio to it.

Certainly, but even with a soundbar it sounds a bit better with Atmos, and TRUEHD Atmos better than DD+ Atmos. Would love to have a full setup with in wall downward firing speakers, but unlikely to happen in an apartment.
Unfortunately they could give the same performance but they get to charge more for that label.
It's definitely paying off for them, soundbars are very popular!
Got one from Walmart, and paired with the bass module 500. Sounds amazing! Doesn't sound that great out of the box, download the Bose music app and adjust the Settings, amazing.
Getting FOMO out of this deal and am trying to find a soundbar to go with a new S90C we bought thanks to Slickdeals. It sounds like I should aim for a higher budget though especially if a good Atmos experience is important to us

I have this samsung model bought open box model at sams. While i like overall sound, it doesn't match bose sound clarity. And moreover the base from samsung version is mediocre. I will lean towards bose if you are comparing these 2 models. Eventually you should get external sub for bose as the soundbar doesn't produce much of bass you expect. But sound clarity itself is best.
Beyond confused. You own the Samsung bar but you're saying this Bose (that you don't own) is better?
I think I'll stick with Rtings ratings, and believe the Samsung is better. Bose isn't what it used to be nor is many many companies. A few brands you used to just know any product they put out was higher quality (course that came with higher cost) not anymore.
Someone said Vizio is crap? It's not bad, definitely worth the cost compared to some of these. No way this soundbar is worth $500.

Right but it's sub 200, and Vizio is complete crap

Exactly the same that problem that I'm having. I bought that same TV thanks to slick deals. But sound bars are incredibly expensive. I'm going to pull the trigger on this one and will return it if not satisfied.
Is the audio good as a standalone speaker or should you get the whole setup?
I bought 600 last year, it is pretty good considering how much base you want, this one paired with my LG C4 gives me really good performance unless I want to setup a real theater. This is a good buy!
You can always add base module and make it a setup.
