I've used this for our camping trip where it got to 38F at night and it was a life saver. Just know that it creates A LOT of moisture in the air.

The manual says, "This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odor. Using it in an enclosed space can kill you. Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as a camper, tent, car or home."

You do NOT want to run this in a house on a regular basis. Water vapor is a by-product of the reaction. Beside, those little bottle of propane is very pricy.

If all you got is baseboard, look to your local utilities to see if there are any incentive for a heat pump.
You can use an adapter to hook up a larger tank but your points are definitely still valid.

In the Amazon product description it doesn't specifically state that it's approved for indoor use. I'd like to make sure I could use this indoor for my basement. Would I still need to vent through a window?
No venting required. I purchased one last January when the electric company FUBARed our substation doing upgrades on the coldest day of the year. Was without power for about 18 hours. The little thing easily kept a 20x12 room warm.

Just be sure you want to keep it before you order. I believe Amazon doesn't allow return on this due to shipping restrictions. I cancelled my little heater after reading that comment. Was an impulse buy and instant cancel lol

I have mine hooked up to a 30 lbs tank. I use it in a large garage, and it takes the edge off the cold, but just the edge. Maybe after 24 hours it'd get up to a comfortable temp. I'd like to get the big buddy or another large one to use as a booster to our heat pump in the house, but it does need ventilation in the room as it will build up some kind of gasses. CO? CO2? Probably both.

It has some propane smell. Anybody else have that?

This is the Canadian/ Massachusetts approved version, which is not listed as indoor safe in those locations. https://www.homedepot.com/p/quest...4908610/2#

When using it with anything larger than a 1lb screw on tank, you need to keep the tank outdoors.

Bought the Buddy Flex instead, a better deal at $80. Wider heat area and not easily falling over like the buddy heater.

I always thought that one had more complaints. I was wondering if it's worth it over this one.

Got this at Costco last year for a similar price and it included the long hose attachment. Had great plans for this deal but it's still in the box unfortunately.

This one is actually nicer than the little buddy because you can setit on low or high
It depends on your usage. We own both, and only run the heater rarely to take the chill off at night before bed, or in the morning when we first get up. The Little Buddy heater still does a fine job of this, heating up our 10x14 canvas tent about 20 degrees in 15 minutes. About half the speed of the Buddy heater on high, and the same as on low.

Unless you're heating up a larger area, or are concerned about an extra 5-10 minutes to heat things up, the Little Buddy is going to do OK. Of course, the cost and size difference aren't THAT significant, especially once you factor in the fact the size of the bigger heater includes space for a propane tank, where it has to be carried separately with the Little Buddy, so the added flexibility is probably worth it. Also the Buddy heater is a bit more stable on uneven surfaces than the Little Buddy, so that could be a factor depending on where you're using it.
