My assumption is you had moisture condensing on the sides of your tent (or uninsulated small building) because the inside was warmer than the outside. Any similar source of heat would have done that. The moisture was there regardless...probably as a result of your respiration.

For everyone looking to heat stuff with these, the room should be vented (crack a window), and this is a temporary heating solution. It's more for ice fishing/hunting shack/camping/emergency use than for, I want my basement or spare bedroom heated.
These, unless I'm reading wrong, do NOT have any carbon monoxide safety on them. You will need a carbon monoxide detector to be safe. I have a couple of these and the bigger cabinet heater for when my power goes out (big snow storm two years ago took out a ton of power lines, almost 3 days in a northern Wisconsin winter without power), they worked great, but I had a couple windows cracked open and a couple CO detectors. I overdid it as I found out the big cabinet 18k btu in my basement would heat the whole house good enough, but it also wasn't super cold then (like 25-30deg, we had it go out once when it was -40 then I'm sure I'd have all of them running 😂).

In that scale (not 9000 BTU....) it sounds like you are accidently turning your garage into 'condensing furnace.' Gross oversimplification of course. And I bet the days you choose to run the electric only vs the electric AND gas furnaces also happen to have very different outdoor temps / conditions, leading to different results in your unsealed garage space.

Again, you are wrong. It is not negligible. You are putting almost 2lbs of water into the air for every 1lb of propane burnt, That's one small green canister.
