We have used them the last 2-3 years and have shipped out over 1,000 packages without any issues with them tearing or ripping. They aren't "tear proof" but they do hold up very well. They are also self sealing, but the little strip of plastic is REALLY thin and static makes it stick to your hands. (the only downside if that counts) If you're a small business and need shipping envelopes, I'd jump on these...we did.

I do run an online store and I don't want the standard grey packing envelope. I buy unique, colored mailers so they stand out from the other boring packages that people receive throughout the year. The colored ones are more expensive, but they also give a unique experience when they arrive. No one gets excited about getting an Amazon package in the mail anymore. And when something shows up in unique packaging, it's memorable. And memorable experiences mean repeat sales.
