High torques are very capable, but they are huge and heavy. In comparison, mid-torques can get practically everything done, fit in tighter places, and are much easier and more comfortable to wield.
I have this one. It is a nut busting masterpiece. Love it.
Wish the tool only version would go on sale 🫤

If all you're doing is changing lug nuts, might as well wait. I kept my old corded kobalt forever - aside from anode rods, my mid torque handled almost everything

Like 90% of my tools are Milwaukee. I would love to order this but I have a basically brand new dealt 18v (old style) that I'm using with a battery adapter and works great. When the time comes I guess I'll pick one of these up.

Do you have a link to the adapter?

I hate when they keep changing deal prices. Bought this with a forge 8 amp battery for $400. If i return that, i can buy this, and the forger 8 and forge 12 for $480. So essentially getting the forge 12 for 80 bucks more. Ugh

I have the mid torque and use it quite a bit. I bought it primarily for the lighter weight.
However...I know I am going to run into something that I am going to need this nut buster someday. I am doing more and more work myself on my vehicles and don't want to be caught half way through a project with something torn apart and need this impact.
Maybe that day will never come but will give me confidence that it's there waiting for me in my tool chest if I need it.

What would a diyer need this for besides flexing to neighbors?

But then again, I had to bust out my mid torque for the first time on an anode rod bolt recently.

Breaking through rust, suspension parts, lug nuts on SUV/pickups, engine crank bolt, axle nuts. Mostly stuff that's above a shade tree mechanic, but still below shop level work.

Also good for large concrete anchors, say if building your own carport or pole barn
