I wouldn't, you can get a 1TB drive from a reputable brand for $10-15 more.

Might be worth a shot for a game drive but not for storing data you'd be upset if you lost.

Never use a cheap drive for a boot drive.

Do you mean "cheap", or do you mean non-major brand? Because cheap is the reason we're all here.

It's getting harder and harder to find TLC drives. What's the next best price?

Still active. Looks like it has a MAP1012 controller which doesn't provision for a huge cache and has a rather lackadaisical direct write speed about 300 MB/s after about 32GB. But you not going to run into that limitation too much. Okay option for a game drive.

Edit: sorry I meant MAP1202.

How does this drive compare with the ORICO J-10? It seems to be better. Where did you find that the controller is a MAP1012? Would like to read a review on the drive, similar to the ORICO J-10. https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-s...1-tb.d2039

Sorry, MAP1202... Educated guess based on listed speeds. YMTC memory probably which is good stuff.

The J-10 being sold now is almost certainly not Solidigm QLC.

would this be good in an external enclosure hooked up to an Xbox Series S for recording some gameplay footage?
