A few months ago I used a socket to hold the hole saw and used a socket extension with a impact adapter to drill through some thick panels. Ordered this for next time.

Maybe they're talking about the reviews on this lenox's page, I see one of the top reviews that says starrett is made in USA still and much better steel that this lenox.

I bought the Milwaukee brand and used it to drill into my house to install mini splits. And it also fits into the earth auger bits I got from Amazon, no bending when planting bulbs. Oddly it helped breaking up tuff soil for digging when I waterproofed my foundation walls.
